Please recommend SACD player under $6K - "warm" I would check out the Marantz SA14. A new mk2 has been out for about six months. It has balanced outputs and I would discribe its sound as more warm or laid back as far as CD players go. Its redbook performance is outstanding. List price is $3000....
One big subwoofer or two weaker subwoofers? When I trying to decide which way to go, I called Sumiko, the US distributor for REL. They stated without a doubt, that one Stadium III was better than two Storm or Strata III's. I purchased a Stadium III and couldn't be happier. I'd go with a sub...
good 5 channel amp for rears only I agree with the previous post in that you have addressed your timber match in your speakers. I'm doing the same thing in my system only using 5 channels instead of 7 in HT mode. I think the Parasound is a great way to go as I am using the 2203 wh...

Thiel 1.6 vs 2.3 vs 3.6 I own Thiel 22's. My room is 15x17 and with 22's, I've had to position my speakers almost four feet into the room away from the front wall and almost three feet in from the side walls. With that in mind, I feel that the 3.6's would be a little on ...

surrounds for thiel front speakers I've got CS22's for my mains, an SCS2 for the center and a pair of SCS's for the satellites. I recessed both center and satellites into the walls and have very nice results both cosmetically and for sound. The SCS's were designed to be placed in o...
Help me find it again I'd play with speaker positioning. Move them out another 6 inches from the back wall and closer together by a foot to 18 inches. This should inprove your bass dramatically. A better bottom end will smooth your highs.

SACD-Standard/Custom Filter I've got the same switch on my Marantz SA14 SACD player. After owning the player for over a year I took the risk and moved the switch. It really opened things up especially with SACD's. If you go to AA, there are quite a few threads regarding this...
Joni Mitchell:Remastered??? Shoff,Both my copies of "Court and Spark" and "Miles of Aisles" are dated 1974. Court and Spark sounds good but Miles of Aisles sounds fabulous. Miles of Aisles is an HDCD disk. My CDP does cannot take advantage of HDCP. I believe that I remember ...

CD Treatments-Which ones do you like? I'm using Optrix, available through Music Direct and Audio Advisor. It's a CD treatment spray that will correct any CD's or DVD's that have a skipping problem. Most importantly, it smooths out older harsh sounding CD's as well as seems to quiet or...
Best CD Player for Boeing Office System???? Paul,Use any Mega disk CD changer. Making copies of your CD collection from home and leaving them in the changer is the way to go. I'm using a Creek integrated, Tannoy Mercury's and at Technics changer. At lower volume levels, the absence of an au...
