Do not buy any Sonus Faber used
Grey or not grey market, parts and service should be available. But it's their business how to do business. They can have it and they can listen to their nice "furniture" by bloody selves. There are a lot of better speakers for the price, below th...

Thank you, Phil. I was just curious, no plans to use Redgum phono for now. I have Acoustech PH-1 designed by Ron Sutherland, it is very good for both MM and MC.I too don't touch the key and use on/off switch on my Furman conditioner/stabilizer. I ...
If I can afford one good cable, which component?
Euro will survive, no worries. As for "rubbing sticks together for fire", that's exactly what I wanted to do a month ago when the power over here was cut for a few days and it really got cold in the apartment.
How to "break-in" new speakers??
I never bought new speakers so can't know how it works in different cases. From what I read it might take a few hundred hours for them to reach full potential. I would play them at mostly moderate level during the break-in time.

Hi Phill. Yes, I talked to Lindy. How does the phono stage sound? Do you have the one with bigger power supply?Love that "ignition key" to turn the amp on.
Dead Can Dance New LP "into the labrynth"
Nothing harsh at all. I just thought that you are getting stuck with that. Great album, by the way. You could consider getting the original UK pressing. Expensive, yes, but worth it.

I'll give you two American cents for your couple of euros. Do we have a deal?
Using Granite under speakers
Off the thread a little but I suggest you move your speakers more into the room if you can.
Using Granite under speakers
You could also try Boston Audio graphite tuneblocks either what they specifically intended for spiked components or their blocks with tangsten ball for electronics. I use the former with excellent results on wooden floor.
Experience with Acoutic Zen, PAD and Furutech
Since you have Gryphon it would also make sense to try Gryphon cables.Purist Audio Proteaus newest revision is so much better than Aqueous. You might actually end up with Gryphon or Furutech interconnects and Purist speaker cables, who knows?
how much power
You just need better amp, not necessarily more powerful but probably higher current with more sophisticated power supply. Vienna are good speakers and deserve good amplification.

Also, customer service appears to be excellent. Before buying I contacted them through email and asked a few questions about the possibility of service and repairs in the future. The amp is eleven years old after all. They responded the same day a...
Do not buy any Sonus Faber used
Well, I guess this policy won't affect most of their clients who buy new from authorized US dealers. But all that sounds really bad to me. I have never had any interest in either Sonus Faber or Audio Research though. Will it hurt their business? I ...
Adding a sub - what will I loose?
10 grands for a sub does hurt but better than for pair of cables. I like two subs, I like even more full-range big speakers. So to answer your question - the answer is unknown. It depends.
What component is responsible for dynamics ?
But still if I were to choose one component, I would say turntable in purely analog system and power amp in purely digital. To put aside horn speakers for the moment.
