Larry,Thank you. Never heard of Vinni Rossi. Zanden is very high end.Charles, Concert Fidelity, are they more to your taste or mine as you see it? Or both?
Finally stepping into the hobby after 30 years of watching from the sidelines
This is a neverending subject - cables. To put cost aside for now, cables are components. There is no difference, one has to treat them as such. Signal transmission is just as important as anything else. My approach is that cables must me at least...

I buy serious stuff only on Audiogon, it is more a community than most other places. I very rarely sell anything so can't really tell but would list it here too to begin with. Yes, I check often what's available, a few times a day.
Shorten my speaker cables?
Perhaps we don't want to know it and yet we do. Now let's try to define "know".
Joule Electra preamps and amps. What is your impression?
My speakers have a nomibal impedance of 8 ohm and I have no idea of the curve. Audiokinesis makes interesting speakers, I think, never heard them, though. Audio Note, Harbeth, Spendor are not for me, I guess.Powerful SET sounds good to me.

The idea would be to upgrade my Redgum integrated with better integrated, preferably with Symphonic Line or Gryphon, or perhaps Gamut or Vitus. I also would like to replace my AcousTech phono with a tube one, an excellent tube one, Lamm or VAC etc...

Hi Charles,Yes, I would prefer high powered tube or hybrid amp. However, ideally I would have two different systems. One system is a compromise too. The music I listen to varies from acoustic guitar and vocal to world music to jazz fusion. The amp...

I could suggest you audition Vienna speakers, in addition to Vandersteen. I heard  a few models driven by both solid state and tube electronics. It was quite nice in either case. When buying used patience is the virtue. On the other hand, if you k...
Joule Electra preamps and amps. What is your impression?
Sbank, yes I saw it too. Atma-Sphere are expensive. Did I hear right that OTL amps require a very careful match with speakers ? In what sense? I read that some use them with big Sound Labs, Classic Audio's modern vintage speakers are apparently ex...
Speakers in the 5-6K$ region & their components
You know, self-sufficiency can be great, but let the professional designers build speakers and other stuff. I can sometimes argue with Atmasphere here about certain points but I will not argue about how to make a great amp, or any amp for that mat...

Charles, of course it's an emotional experience and I would be the first one to defend the subjectivity, I just invited everyone not to get cocooned in it while communicating and conveying certain aspects of the subjectivity. Even each instrument ...
Replacing AcousTech phono with Allnic H1201. Is it worth it ?
Whart,Great post, thank you very much. Yes, I know H1201 has solid state power supply. That's my problem, I don't quite enjoy being in the middle, and it appears that unlike what you have this phono stage would take me half way and may actually be...
SET 45 Amp Driving Dynamic Speakers
Charles, I was not talking about the OP's situation and preferences. My car analogy was intentionally grotesque and should be taken as such. I wanted to emphasize particular points not discuss the subjectivity of one's happiness.I too could have S...

Now if I could only find your Chameleon speakers somewhere !
Shorten my speaker cables?
Can be, right.
