A80 (RC MkII) or A810 - which one should I buy? - ANY INPUT IS WELCOME !! Jsman, I see, that is certainly a good idea, also considering that the electronics is very old. I would guess, that your line level preamp is tube as well.
Jazz for aficionados Orpheus10, I will try. Thank you for your support.
Jazz for aficionados Orpheus10, he is Iranian not Arab. You should never get confused, they don't tolerate it. And I am not at all an expert in flamenco.Frogman, I first wanted to comment on your comments but changed my mind. In any case, I doubt that my intention was...
A80 (RC MkII) or A810 - which one should I buy? - ANY INPUT IS WELCOME !! There is Ampex ATR-700 on ebay for $6.5k. They say in like new condition. Anyone wants to give it a try? I would but money is tight these days. Would really be interesting to compare it to the Studers.

Jazz for aficionados Orpheus10, you are in Santana mood today. This should be compatible.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1QST4cJrzs
