How good is your hearing ? And how do you know ?
You are very lucky.Do you know what Flemming Rasmussen once said about his top of the line amplifier ?He said - This one will wake up dead Eskimo !Greenland is part of Kingdom of Denmark, there are Eskimo living there.
Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
No, just play it any way you want to. Low flying aircraft ? Hard to compete with. A few days ago there were a thunder and lightening over here and I thought - how can any audio system reproduce that ? Or record, for that matter. Crazy audiophile t...

han_n,I see. Probably your choice of speakers also influences which one of the two you prefer. Swiss know transistors well, no doubt.
Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
Burn them in at 110db with analog source only !Just kidding. But use various music. Don't assume that they were fully burnt-in. Do you know how many people, not audiophiles, sell their new equipment because in fact it was not properly burnt-in and...
Jazz for aficionados
This will complement Malmsteen nicely.John's finger hurts.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVkk0Fao3y8
Jazz for aficionados
There is also certain scary madness to Malmsteen's playing. I like that too. Besides, technically he is one of very few musicians who could try to play Paganini. For my taste his best album is the one recorded with Japanese orchestra. Not everythin...

Frogman, you simply don't hear what Malmsteen plays. It's not bombastic, it's power, and there are a lot of nuances. He played a lot of junk, no doubt. But who didn't ? I think in fact that Malmsteen screwed up his career, great talent. Not jazz, ...
Neutral or Detailed. You can't have both
I would add that acoustic instruments are not created equal either. I haven't heard Amati or Stradivarius but I have heard great guitar and piano, I also heard terrible ones. Do you want to accurately reproduce the sound of a terrible instrument o...
Neutral or Detailed. You can't have both
Michael is right - natural. Real live sound is both natural and detailed. To hell with tremble to begin with, midrange is what should be done right, though Michael might say that this is wrong too - everything should be done right at the same time ...
Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
Oh yes, don't pay much attention to how they sound during this burning in period unless you want to have fun. Give them a time.
Do speaker cables need a burn in period?
Give them 300 hours of play, whatever you've got or going to get, and tell us what happened. The length of burn-in will vary, usually the better the cables the longer but not always.
In search for speakers of "natural" sound
Aren't we all true audiophiles on a quest to find it ? Maybe you don't like boxes. Have you ever heard big Soundlabs with right amplification ? I am just guessing. Or perhaps you simply want what is not possible to achieve. I would also try Grypho...
Want to try separates, what to expect.
That said, I might choose to go with Gryphon integrated instead of lower fidelity brand separates. It would depend on funds and availability, I guess.
Want to try separates, what to expect.
I consider doing the same in the coming years, well, almost the same because I don't think I need preamp - volume is controlled on a tape deck and I need only one input.Other things being equal, separates are always a way to go. But cables, cords,...
How good is your hearing ? And how do you know ?
Finally. Someone has a great transistor amp - Gryphon. How is FM Acoustics compared to Gryphon if you are familiar ?
