Used audio market appears to be collapsing It is for fun. I usually use gear for at least a decade then I give it away to somebody who is starting out. The market sites show you what's ending up on the secondary market and what is chronically absent.
Has anyone switched from Class AB/A to Class D? Was it better? Was it worse? I bought a Panasonic SA XR 50 with an Energy Star sticker on it for my transition to class D. Not a reference piece but it can do 5.1 signals and it never gets hot. Now I run B&O Ice Modules in two sizes: Red Dragon M500 monoblocks; Wyred4Soun...
Class d amplification Wyred 4 Sound SX-1000 R are 1000 watt Ice Modules with nice power supplies and proprietary input boards. 3200 USD. Head room for your Blades. Gear depreciates precipitously so buy low to insulate yourself.

Chinese DAC's There are talented engineers around the world so I wouldn't use nationality as a criterion, except where the country has very high labor costs reflected in the price. Some producers may use counterfeit parts especially in the crossover. Caveat emp...
There is no substitute for cubic inch or in this case surface area My Yamaha NS-5000's have one 12 inch woofer each. You have to look carefully to see them move. It's a 6 ohm driver with a 3.5 pound woofer coil, which I think is key to its incredible bass texture and detail down to 26hz. I rarely hear my subwoofe...
Speakers sound too bright. Get the laminate covered with area rugs. And break them in.
Repair for speaker cabinet Color matched wax. Damage isn't that bad.
Is this a new trend? Most reviewers have small rooms hence they test small speakers.
Do You Unplug Equipment During Thunderstorms? Powerlines are buried in my neighborhood so I do not worry about it. My system is on Furman power strips.
Best $10-15K bookshelf speaker? Solid information from all. Thank you! In non bookshelf I am also considering the Zu Druid 6. Anybody know that one? |
