What do you care about in this hobby?
Sound quality but value for money. Value can be technical acheivment, part selection, engineering. Also interesting cabinet materials and design. Is there a synergy?

I'm a little perplexed/surprised by TMR and who sells to them.....
Extremely rare or iconic gear may hold some value but the lion's share is ten cents on the dollar when you sell. TMR is interesting. I may drive up there some day. Their inventory is an education.

A convoluted question.  I'd look at companies like Schiit and Wyred4Sound and refurbished higher end brands like Yamaha. Tekton speakers. Change in your pocket.  
Speakers "Too Big" for room
The fundamental issue is near field listening to large speaker arrays designed to use power is like sitting next to a jet engine. Hence the art of bookshelf speakers.   
Suggestions for a holographic preamp?

Changing out 8?ohm for a 4ohm...
Engineers harness the variability of impedences among drivers as tool for phase and voicing. My Yamaha NS-5000's have 6 ohm woofers with 4 ohm midranges and tweeters.
