Where do you find new music? I'm lucky enough to have 88.5 WXPN Phili for the first half of my commute and 90.5 (WBJB?) "The Night" for the second half each morning. (And vv on the way home). Both are public radio stations that really explore the best unplayed and hardly play...
Is SACD a dead format? Not to create a big spark B-U-T:If you don't hear the high-rez difference with the SACD of Orff or Beck "Sea Change" then you really should sell-off your system or atleast get speakers that go up to 35KHz. I only test to 16KHz but there still is a...
Is SACD a dead format? Sad if true. DVD-A seems to suck in stereo.
Top 5 Best audiophile tracks to test equipment Hats off to Twl. I've been using Woody and Dutch on the Slow Train to Peking, on the RLJ "Pirates" album since it's release. Some others are the first song on Terence Trent D'Arby's "Introducing..." album and "Human Nature" off Michael Jackson's "...
Are "Redbook Only " CD players Obsolete? Ask the everyday music listener and they still don't know what SACD or DVD-A is. I have SACD and love it but am ready to spend $1500 on a dedicated CDP. I only spent $400 to check out SACD.
Your favorite versions of Aja and Katy Lied? This is an easy one. I have both the Japanese and US MSFL's and the Japanese mini-LP. Amazingly, the US MSFL is far better then the Japanese MFSL. The Japanese MSFL has bloated bass while the US MSFL has deeper, defined bass that anyone with heari...
Best location for isolation cones. Slappy and a saws-all? RUN AWAY!
The problem with the music Believe me, No recording engineer is part of the problem. It's the mass production end of things that screw things up. Any master is better than what you get to purchase. Even the worse of the masters.
Best tubes for phono-stage? Go with the Amperex orange globe 6dj8's if you can't buy the telefunken e188cc's.
the police SYNCHRONICITY best CD version is? I'm with Babyjdrums. The mfsl is excellent. I have the sacd, the box set, and the previous remaster. Get the mfsl. They did great on this one.
TUBES 6922 pinched waist I just installed them a week ago and have no doubt that they sound great. One is a Stromberg, one is Amperex PQ. Soundwise, you can't tell a difference. BTW - I do not like Bugle Boys. Almost anything else is better. Especially orange globe 6dj8's.
how did you find "the gon" A great audiophile freind named Jeff Robinson who sadly perished where we worked on the 95th floor of WTC1. I really miss him. We had the same ears.
OK time for Christmas Music "The Nightmare Before Christmas" soundtrack by Danny Elfman is phenomenal. My family and I love the range of musical styles. The Elfman is a genius.
Where's Slappy Been Lately ??? Yeah, I miss him too. I think he's really Artie Lang.
VPI 16.5 Jependleton - BIG thanks. There are many of us that bought our 16.5 used and do not have a manual. I had been wondering the same thing as Ttrhp |
