Best HOME system you've ever heard
About five variation ago at my house. Maybe I should return to the DQ-10's and the Electrocompaniet?
Records to CD ripping need basic help
I had been using M-Audio's Audiophile USB very successfully but am now using an Apple G5. Big price difference and the G5 isn't much better. I don't even think I can get $150 for the Audiophile USB while the G5 was thousands.
Which preamp to buy?
I really love my Audible Illusions Modulus 3A so much that I was thinking of buying their first; an AI M1 that just went up for sale. Whatever, an AI M3A is a step in the right direction. It takes much more bucko's after that.
A musical "heads up" to any and all...
I have your musical tastes and a Nickle Creek sacd already. Really like that too.
Tubes for Audible Illusions Modulus 3A?
I've been going with NOS tubes and they've lasted years. I have a pair of JAN's that are still alive after two years. The big question is "Do you power off the M3A or use the stand-by mode?" I don't. I leave everything on all the time. All The Time...
Vandersteen Subwoofer decision
Get the q's so I can buy your 2w. Let me know before you list it. My room works great with the 2w. Thanks.
High output DAC?
My Electrocompaniet ECD-1 is definitely high output (unless everything else I have is low output). We're talking a couple hours difference on the clockwise motion of the pot.
Amperex tubes questions
both are great. i think the pq's are better for my purposes. try 'em both!
Does sound travel better at night?
Definitely better as I stoke more j _ h. PLUS, the wife and kids have retired upstairs and I'm finally alone.

A drop WHERE?
Audible Illusions Modulus 3A an upgrade?
The M3A is fairly untoouchable. A definite upgrade for you.
Best sounding SACD disc?
Beck "Sea Change" is correct! Untouchable.

Rushton - Great artical. Thanks.
Brain Becomes an Ipod
There have been times I actually "heard" the music without the stereo playing. It is completely different then recalling or remember the song. It's rare (maybe once every couple years) but it's cool. Wish I could do it all the time.
What is your idea of a Perfect Album?
Stevie Wonder "Innervisions". Great jazz chord changes over a real funk clavinet and drums with all guitars rockin' to the great vocals. Kate Bush "The Hounds Of Love". Delve deep in. There is not a note to be changed. And the last 3/4 of the albu...
