Suggestion on XLR Cables So I bought a pair of KLEE Acoustics TruBalance Interconnect XLRs that arrived today to use with my NAT Audio Magnetic Preamp. I got that preamp about a month ago to replace a PS Audio BHK. I like the NAT better but thought I could use a cable upg...
Warm, rich sounding interconnects? re an earlier post on Jeff Day replacing Klee cables with much cheaper Duelund interconnects.Jeff is a great guy. I have messages with him often I am happy the Duelunds worked so well in his system. To be blunt, they stunk in mine. RCAs, XLRs,...
Suggestion on XLR Cables I've seen some Synergistic CTS (used) at about $1000. Cable's got great reviews and I like their power conditioner. I'm not high on another AC connection (for the active piece of the cable). Audience SE (1m) available around $1000, SX about $12...
Professional Speaker Set-Up - South Florida Thanks everyone for the responses!I've got the speakers setup pretty well using the Sumiko method. I'm sure a pro could do better and when I get to a permanent home I will engage someone to do it.For whatever reason, the Duettes were easier to se...
Any other tweaks for Wilson Audio Duettes? <I always wanted to dump the supplied umbilical speaker wires but never got around to doing that. >I just got a pair of Duettes and was thinking of doing the same thing. When I asked Wilson they recommended against it as they said the cables...
Top resistors I just got some 5.1 ohm resistors to try on my tweeters in a pair of Wilson Duette. I actually preferred the lower cost Duelunds to the more expensive Duelunds but preferred the Path Audio to both of those. I had never used the Path's before. A...
Professional Speaker Set-Up - South Florida Dweller,What they have are two values of resistors that control the level of the tweeter output. I have been playing around with them as well as trying out other hi-end resistors I have around the house.Hifi,Thanks for the info. I was hoping to fi...
Cable Cooking/Burnin I received my Cable Cooker the other day and love it. I have a technical question for those more versed in the science than I.I was trolled and ridiculed on Head-Fi for talking about the cooker with a couple of respondents saying 'you can do the ...
Sonus Faber Cremona Auditors or Olympica I Almost embarrassed to admit that the look of a speaker is nearly as important as the sound to me, especially in my main set-up in a living room surrounded by art deco furniture.I have a pair of Liutos in there now, Very high WAF for floor-stander...
Sonus Faber Cremona Auditors or Olympica I If it was the Cello it's quite a bit more $$$ than the Cremona @ $18k. The Cello is a floor mount. Maybe you saw the Violin which is stand-mounted. That's not cheap either at $8500.Whether they are value or not is another matter but I've heard ...
Sonus Faber Cremona Auditors or Olympica I All the responses have been helpful. My understanding is that the Cremona M Auditors are easier to setup/less finicky about placement than the original Cremona Auditors.Has anyone heard any of the Lawrence speakers? You can find good deals on th...
Sonus Faber Cremona Auditors or Olympica I Excel, I am pretty sure that was Serblin's last SF design. I didn't realize they were that setup dependent. The best I can do is a regular living room as opposed to a dedicated music room. I'll never manage to get them that far away from the ba...
Sonus Faber Cremona Auditors or Olympica I Kelvin, are you talking about the Cremona Auditors or the Olympica Is? I wasn't sure.Has anyone heard the Lawrence Audio Violin SE? If not can you recommend a used monitor in the $3k-$5k range (current used price)? Thanks !
Sonus Faber Cremona Auditors or Olympica I Thanks much. I really appreciate the insight though I am surprised by the responses. I’ve read a number of posts from people raving about the Cremonas and how the original version might even be better than the M version. Also have heard some compa...
Acoustic Treatment of 'Unique" Room Thanks for the response. I ended up buying a bunch of stuff from GIK. The room turned out reasonably well considering how bad it was. It's still got a null at 55hz that I can't seem to tame even with their help, but I'll have to live with it. |
