Thanks.  I can burn the CDs.  I listen to downloaded music more than Redbook anyway.  I'm just getting mixed opinions from people on it.  While everyone says it's a very good server, some say it will equal my transport in sound quality, while othe...
Question About Raidho Models C, D, XT
audiotroy,Thanks for the response.  The room is moderately sized, about 15x14.  The issue is that the rear wall behind me is a wall in the hallway, and on one side of the room is an open railing (rather than a wall) that leads to the dining room. ...
Question About Raidho Models C, D, XT
Thanks for the responses.  Rock concert I don't need.  My issue is the crappy room I'm in which only has one sidewall (open on one side to the dining room) and is pretty narrow.  My Duettes are about 5 feet apart as that's all I can manage in that...
Question About Raidho Models C, D, XT
That helped greatly, thank you very much. How sensitive are they to a good set-up?  Right now I'm in a crappy room, big sideboard behind the speakers, only 1 sidewall, large sofa.  Uggh, I know.  When I move next year I will have a dedicated listen...
Mapleshade Isolation: Does Nothing?
Very interesting thread... I was introduced by my dealer to chuck the entire MAPLESHADE rig above in favour of his NAIM FRAME bespoke custom clone audio rack system: his professionally made bespoke custom-made clone of the NAIM cup-and-cone condui...
VAC Phi 300.1a Single Channel Ground Loop Hum
Still looking for Mr. Right (Amp)...Had a Zanden integrated here but couldn't drive my WIlson Duettes to acceptable levels using the single-ended output of the PS Audio DSD.  Beautiful purity but no bass at all.Borrowed a very old ASR Emitter 1 an...
VAC Phi 300.1a Single Channel Ground Loop Hum
I had to bring the VAC back to the dealer as I couldn't fix it hear.  My son wasn't very happy about having to move it again.  Service tech looked at it and said he thought it was a bad cap or resistor.  Definitely a 60hz type hum.  They will fix ...
VAC Phi 300.1a Single Channel Ground Loop Hum
I hadn't either.  Dealer said he once had a CJ amp that had a ground loop in a single channel.  Given that a 'cheater' cord didn't help it sure points to an output tube.My son will be thrilled (lol) to have to move that beast from the rack.
VAC Phi 300.1a Single Channel Ground Loop Hum
Just tried VAC with a power cord where ground plug has been removed.  No change in hum.  That would point to something other than ground loop, no?
Shortening REL Subwoofer Cables
Doesn't simply redoing the Neutrik Speakon plug end make things easier? Maybe.  a) I didn't want to mess with the plug.  b) I figured the Furutech spades were better than what was supplied.
Shortening REL Subwoofer Cables
can't see where it would be a problem.  Doh.I already ordered Furutech spades so I can shorten that cable.
Shortening REL Subwoofer Cables
Thanks for the response.  I can see where it would be a problem using the Bassline Blue either.  Dealer only had the 10m length.
Suggestion on XLR Cables
So I bought a pair of KLEE Acoustics TruBalance Interconnect XLRs that arrived today to use with my NAT Audio Magnetic Preamp. I got that preamp about a month ago to replace a PS Audio BHK. I like the NAT better but thought I could use a cable upg...
Warm, rich sounding interconnects?
re an earlier post on Jeff Day replacing Klee cables with much cheaper Duelund interconnects.Jeff is a great guy.  I have messages with him often  I am happy the Duelunds worked so well in his system.  To be blunt, they stunk in mine.  RCAs, XLRs,...
Suggestion on XLR Cables
I've seen some Synergistic CTS (used) at about $1000.  Cable's got great reviews and I like their power conditioner.  I'm not high on another AC connection (for the active piece of the cable).  Audience SE (1m) available around $1000, SX about $12...
