Occasional Sound Imbalance Issue
Buy a cheap PC scope. When the problem happens, disconnect the speakers at the speakers and connect 8Ω dummy loads Measure a 1kHz square wave on the speaker cables simultaneously on both channels. If the waveforms are identical, it's the speaker...
Finding (calculating?) speaker and amp impedance
reviewers give far too much positive press to a speaker that shows you the difference between an integrated and million dollar monoblock +1 Every budding audiophile should endeavor to hear a time aligned [studio monitor] system with electronic...
Please tell me the wait will be work it......my rack
Racks also affect reflections which affect sound stages
Please tell me the wait will be work it......my rack
Buy sound, not jewelry. Jewelry has enabled so many charlatans and is destroying the HiFi space.

The Pangea racks are garbage. Mine haven’t rotted and holds about 200 pounds of amplifiers and VPI bricks. Mac equipment that ’splains it! 🙄

@boxcarman For a few hundred bucks you can get a Pangea wood rack with 4 or 5 shelves. If you think you have vibration issues, use footers or an isolation pad. It is ridiculous to spend megabucks on a rack. +1 Better to spend the money on ni...
After fifty years… amazing. What high end audio can be.

I have NOVA V's and I am not happy
I bought the house because of the room. [The realtor asked the missus "Why does he go around clapping everywhere we look?"] Then I designed the diffusers, err, bookcases and put down hard as blaze strand bamboo then covered about 60% of it with w...

That TV in the back is a big problem though a lot of people do it that way. Easy to resolve with a quilt.
I have NOVA V's and I am not happy
Why would a company make a product that doesn’t sound good or match well with various electronics? It’s the nature of the business. Many components are designed for looks / SPL and not accurate sound reproduction. I’ve lost count of the number...
I have NOVA V's and I am not happy
All hardware and cable recommendations are system and user specific and thus irrelevant. The speaker has some very low impedance points possibly making the ML unhappy, a horrifically wrong frequency spectrum and it's ported. Nothing will make it ...

@clearthinker +1 What’s cool is than I have less than 30% [12% in mid 80’s dollars] invested today. Back then "On well recorded material, this system could raise the hair on the back of your neck. One felt as though one could walk up and join t...

I'd have the amp checked out. Capacitors next to big heatsinks have short lives.
Does a brand new electrical circuit for audio gear benefit from burn in/break in time?
^ +1 Unless one lives in an ice box, flipping on the HiFi and playing a track or two while brewing an espresso, pouring a malt or similar, gets the circuits close to idle temperature or better. [class A excepted] Unless the power amplifier is de...
Does a brand new electrical circuit for audio gear benefit from burn in/break in time?
- not sure why you would even conjecture that … but in any case …nope … that is dead wrong … and you lose that wager …full stop.  - My entire system was fully disconnected into its individual components and then boxed up and stored away for prot...
