Esoteric X-01 D2
I like this thread so here are some more thoughts:I am not usually a tweaker but might consider some trial and error with isolation. My equipment is in an Arcici rack and the whole system is so dead quiet that I can hear the studio resonance and s...
Esoteric X-01 D2
I have just put one into my system to replace a Musical Fidelity Tri-Vista SACD player. The reason for replacement was that the MF had lost a channel and rather than repair it I chose to trade it in on the Esoteric unit because the MF dealers told...
Any Comparisons between VTL 7.5 & ARC Ref 3
I just bought the newest BAT preamp VK 52se and could not be happier. I am using it with a new Krell EVO 402 amp and it is dead quiet. I could write all day about the imaging, dynamics, detail, etc. but in truth the thing just makes all the music ...
Which Solid State Amplifier is Making you Happy?
I just upgraded from a Krell 400cx to a new Krell EVO 402 and the improvement is very clearly audible and more musical (without any loss of that famous Krell "slam" whatever that is).good luck.
Krell Service
I live in the area. Those guys are great. they let me drop off my amp in the morning, then jump back on the highway for work. The amp has been in for service twice and always it was back in a week/ten days, repaired under warranty, then shipped at...
What do you think about Edge amps ?
I was given a NL-10 by a dealer for an extended home audition. It was an unopened box, brand new amp. I plugged it into Satellite radio for one week 24/7 to break it in at a medium low volume and went to Florida for a week.I got home and started m...
Euphoric tube amp sound?
I suppose you mean euphonic and the euphonic sound could make you feel euphoric. But I don't think equipment can in and of itself be euphoric. I've never seen my equipment feel much of any particular way.
Cars R OK, but what kind of motorcycle do you have
stilljdno offense taken. I love debating over e-mail. I know that it sure would be fun to try my FJ against all the bikes out there. I think if you rode it you might agree. It has got a lot of power, and the throttle response is truly instataneous...
Cars R OK, but what kind of motorcycle do you have
p.s. StilljdNothing is faster for riding on the two lane road with curves than a lightweight bike. And lightweight bikes are also great fun to ride. But they certainly are not the most comfortable for a cross country trip, two up riding, or carryi...
Cars R OK, but what kind of motorcycle do you have
Helloo Stilljdthanks for your comment. I've nailed a couple of bikes in roll ons. The thing is a torque monster and with the stock cams and the racing carbs the throttle response is instantaneous in the rev range where most of us ride on the highw...
Cars R OK, but what kind of motorcycle do you have
I am riding a Yamaha FJ 1100, the last of the great air cooled bikes. But now it is 1400 cc's, flat slide Keihn carbs, Carillo rods, titanium valves, Perf. machine brakes/floating rotors, puffed out swing arm, gumball 17" tires f/r, 4 into 2 exhau...
High power integrated suggestions please.
You might research Musical Fidelity Tri-Vista int. amp and their Tri Vista SACD player. I have the SACD player and it is great. The amp had 350 watts a side and recieved great reviews.h.
Krell versus Pass
thanks for your comments. I am certainly not a Krell basher--and in fact the Krell bashers on Audiogon have been quite quiet lately--I own and enjoy my 400cx amp. It was just that the Pass X-1 was a huge improvement in the system so I was wonderin...
any suggestion for a narrow mini receiver
I think Musical Fidelity makes some very narrow equipment. I think it is the X-series. I haven't heard it but I do own one other piece of their gear (the Tri Vista SACD player) and it sounds just great.
Krell, Krc-3, Krc, and Krc-Hr "What's your taste"
I had my system configured with Krell 400cx amp and Krell KPS-25sc with Siltech CAST cables and a Siltech powercord on the KPS. I bought a Musical Fidelity Tri-Vista SACD player. There was no doubt that the Musical Fidelity player sounded much bet...
