Pop album that has stood the test of time
Nothing to complain about here.
Pop album that has stood the test of time
I went back and can see most of you folks apparently stop at the 80's. Makes me laugh.
Pop album that has stood the test of time
Many of those old, especially pre-digital, albums are infinitely better recorded than what is usually available today, and this trend goes back into the 50's, as most of you would know from the latest high-priced re-releases.  Don't, however, forg...
Drinking Songs playlest... What am I missing?
I'm surprised how milk-toast a bunch of these are.  Have you never heard of Jerry Jeff Walker, whose goal was to be "passed out on stage"?  Maybe we should be looking for audiophile versions.....
Does Anyone Know the History of the Early Sota Turntables?
Had a Star Sapphire in the late 80's, with the sapphire bearing and aluminum platter. Swapped out Sumiko arm for Eminent Technology straight-line tracker and that made a dramatic difference.  Light weight tonearm probably a good bet. l spoke with ...
Open baffle speakers
Dick Olsher's Basszillas worked out very well for me.  The bass reflex cabinet with the 16" woofer and the absorbent disk on the back wall gave smooth, articulate bass but not the submarine-low thunder that I didn't care for anyway, and the DX4's ...
When I listen to my system.......
I'm glad that you remember your Dad like that.  Mine was an EE and skeptical (to say the least) about unmeasurable sonic nuances. Still, it made me smile when he got a look at my stuff and marveled that I had equipment with "bottles"!  When he pas...
IsoAcoustics GAIA
That’s not pedantic. My brain’s wires got crossed. R7 Meta is correct. I don’t know why they name their products like that.
IsoAcoustics GAIA
Have Gaia III’s under my new KEF Ref 7 Metas on a hardwood non-suspended floor. At 64# that is right at the top of their weight limit but sound is clear & focused top to bottom. Important to note KEFs came with default spikes and padded discs ...
Hot off the press...Technics SL 1300G
The stock SL-1200G mat is 3 mm? Is that correct? I have one on the way and also have a SOTA reflex clamp I’ve had for years.
Hot off the press...Technics SL 1300G
A bit off topic…. I have a 1200G coming and wondered if there were a decent functioning autolift for it?
Integrated Amps
I just read where the phono doesn't mean much to you.  PS Audio may still have that refurb Strata available then.

A lot of this is going to depend on what speakers you have and what you expect out of them.  I suppose you've already seen Steve Gutenberg's review of the Billie which is very positive (he keeps going crazy over the knobs!) but does much address t...
Biwiring make any sense?
The KEF R7 Metas I am looking at have a switch to select for biwiring versus not. One would assume this would mean some crossover compatibility or at least negating the jumpers but I really don’t have any good way of knowing. I have two cable sets...
Biwiring make any sense?
The only thing a designer could do to facilitate his speakers being bewired would be to have a switch disabling internal jumpers.  As far as a circuit diagram would be concerned that wouldn't make any difference, just a physical connectivity diffe...
