FInally I have a noise issue
Maybe it is the source? It was the USB connecting the DAC to the computer that was the source of the hash/noise. And it appeared on all sources as a ground loop type of input..
Gutwire Cable Needed?
I often yearn for someone to show that these things work on a plot, graph or measurement.

@clearthinker I abide the vinyl fine. This ADC (and an 8 channel DAC) is my first real foray into digital gear… and the ADC is specifically for measuring the TT stuff. 😋
FInally I have a noise issue
Word @adambennette and @clearthinker  I always ply the iPod without charging, mostly because the one hole cannot do charge and plat at the same time. The DAC/ADC was a surprise though. I can see why I like vinyl… this digital stuff if difficult.
Does remote control degrade the sound of tube preamps?
There is nothing that makes remote controlled volume control inferior in sound quality.  If it is implemented with a motorized potentiometer, the quality is entirely dependent on the quality of the potentiometer, not on the motor whose only job...

Its a common fault with components that have any type of "isolated" power supply, like... battery powered components like tablets, phones etc.. CD/DVD players with 2 pin power supplies (Some) Bluiesound products many other products like t...
Gutwire Cable Needed?
As a rational justification… If you ran the line output into a sound card, then maybe that could be used as a way to record what is there when playing nothing. I was doing this yesterday, and also upgrading the OS on the computer to get a better ...
33rpm vs 45rpm - which is better
Wow, that didn't occur to me.  Guess I'll do that - $26 + $30 ain't much nowadays.  Thanks @kennyc - save the packing… You’ll need the packing to ship it. (And we can work out a price off-line.)
To port or not to port speakers
Do you have a way to play one of them without putting it into the ceiling? Is the port out the front? What frequency does the AVR set these to? Small, medium, large? (80, 100, 120, 150 Hz?)

Lets also take a moment to clear up some factual errors; I’m unsure whether the OP cares about facts or factual errors.   Yes, Richard is extensively involved in designing elements of drivers, including many unique drivers partially fabri...
Gutwire Cable Needed?
If it sounds quiet, then it seems there is not a lot that would be fixed by adding it?
Competitive class D amp suggestions
@snapsc  The interesting thing from the March Audio review/test is that although the distortion is very low, the remaining distortion is mostly 2nd and 3rd.  The question  becomes "although it has great bass and an extended top end, is it musica...
33rpm vs 45rpm - which is better
It’s a crap shoot (I would think). Maybe get them both and put the less liked one onto Disc cogs? How much are they?

It is possible that it might have been your tone that set people off? As an idea I’ll add “a #4” to my previous list of 3 finite possibilities: 1: Speaker driver: What I would suggest is to get a Parts Express DATS. Remove the driver from the ...
Interesting ASR review of small GR Research speaker kit
Yeah I was talking to you… It looked like you have skin in the game? And I was thinking it took “a big set” to defend those speakers. Secondly I am not sure it is prudent to classify @noske of idolatry? But are you talking about idolatry of ASR,...
