Amplifier recommendation
I note a lot of recommendations for Atma-Sphere Class D monoblocks. I don’t have the space or money for monoblocks but if Ralph is still reading these posts I wonder if he has a single box Class D on the horizon. Also any plans to find a distribu...
Power cords or power conditioner
Why not both, power (distributor and cables) and room treatments. And honestly implementing room treatment is relatively inexpensive in the grand scheme of things. It just needs a lot of work. For me, I gotten everything I could possibly need, g...
Why not?
@holmz I was talking about the components not the cord! Well others are mentioning power cords. My old gear had a detached power supply, and my newer (old gear) also has a detached power supply… so maybe it was designed not to need an ex[eniv...
We Can Make Classic Cars Outperform Today's "SuperCars": Why Not Vintage Audio?
Great topic! Of course in a straight line or maybe a oblong track, a car w/ enough horsepower (& high octane fuel) / weight ratio can go really fast & at its extreme needs a parachute to help stop it. Put that older, really fast car in...

@holmz Impressive analogy. It all works well until you fracture a voice coil? i use leafs 😎
Why not?
Think about how much time effort and money goes into r&d for a single product. What R&D? Most of these cables have no measurements, and more like R&D derived from a creative writing course.
Power cords or power conditioner
Most likely positioning and room treatments should get you the results if it is possible in your venue. I’ll have to agree with @ghdprentice here. Cables and power conditioners can theoretically only help with noise. And all the stuff you are ...

For the same reason GM doesn't make tires. They instead partner with Michelin and try to sell you the recommended tires through a back door. GM does cars and they leave it at that. Your are asking a question from a marketing point of view that ha...

+1 Ralph (aka Atmosphere) has a long history of building outstanding tube gear, and if one can afford them, go for it. I am not in that league, but have owned lots tube amps, preamps, even cd players, but am 100% content with my LSA Voyager 350 G...

@waytoomuchstuff - lets think of the vehicle as the speaker. Maybe we think of the brakes as the damping factor, and the engine as the power supply. Then the racing line is like the audio signal. And the amplifier is the driver. One can have a g...
We Can Make Classic Cars Outperform Today's "SuperCars": Why Not Vintage Audio?
@waytoomuchstuff - Don’t get me wrong, I would take a Lola chassis mascarading as a 60’s Ford GT40. But it is not like they have figured out how to make cars a whole lot lighter, and while some improvements in braking materials have happened… the ...

Atma-See here Class D May suprise you in very good way. That Atmasphere would be worth looking at… IMO. (But he also has done valve gear for ages.)
Anyone else feel like it’s the Wild Wild West?
I'm a bit (intended) of a romantic around our hobby, a pastime made increasingly vital by these challenging times. If one is not living in the Ukraine, Afghanistan, parts of Africa, etc, or hungry and homeless, then the “challenging times” of wha...
We Can Make Classic Cars Outperform Today's "SuperCars": Why Not Vintage Audio?
When the "total package" is considered, there’s little argument that well-designed late model cars are the winner… WTF is the point of comparing a drag car to a supercar, to am amplifier? I would take a motorhome to drive across the country, o...
Silver/copper Lavri cable thread gone??
Well Lavri does not have impedance measurements. And they also claim that better conductivity means it is faster.
