Hum on Tube Amp - Can't find source
The sound in that video sounds like “motorboating”.
SUT - electrical theory and practical experience
With out facts my common sense tells me that a LOMC through an active bipolar hifgh gain design is way fast than the same LOMC cartridge + the additional IC cables and the SUT it self where both signal must pass through. So transient response tha...
Do Costly XLR Cables Make A Difference?
Because all materials involved form an inter-relationship, as do electromagnetic fields outside of the system. Its not just "one thing" happening. The field is part of the system, it is not outside of it.
SUT - electrical theory and practical experience
Dear @holmz  : Things are that's really weird that the rise time in a MM cartridge been faster than in a MC cartridge because it must be the other way around and maybe was the SUT who could had the culprit, at least everything point at the sut....
Hum on Tube Amp - Can't find source
holmz    I didn't say it might be a ground loop, although it may be. I did not say you did. I said it. 😎   If OP reports correctly the hum is exactly 60Hz, the coincidence is too much. If we had an Ishikawa chart we would see that a gro...
Hum on Tube Amp - Can't find source
If not, it's on your mains.  Get engineer in. Without anything plugged in it is unlikely to be a ground loop.

Yes @rauliruegas 😎
Speaker Placement and Toe-In
Thanks. Every speaker has its sweet spot in each room. Once you get it locked in, it really creates a very satisfying sound. You never know how good your system can sound until you find that spot, as frustrating as that project is. ozzy Whic...

holmz  the CBS STR-112 has a 1kHz square wave for the test you propose but be warned the results of this test from a cartridge is not for the feint of heart. And yes as you suspect due to the riaa filter the actual cut of the track appea...
Powered speakers show audiophiles are confused
And I like their philisophy ... keep the sound digital until the very end where it feeds the loudspeaker, kinda doesn’t work for tape of LP then…
Hum on Tube Amp - Can't find source
Dunno… multiple tap points on the amp? Changing glow is not encouraging, but it is useful. Some tube expert might chime in. Like Atmasphere if you ask him nicely…
Powered speakers show audiophiles are confused
audioman58,  How many active speakers have you auditioned in your own space? No one in this thread has claimed that you can't get a great system with either passive or active. Given the SAME budget you will get better performance from an a...
Bi amp configuration...a mismatch?
I am just telling what myself and other users have noted. Almost all people with a set of 2C like the Vandy sub, and it removes a lot of the power requirement from the amp, so it is somewhat similar in concept to bi-amping. That “takes it to anot...
Bi amp configuration...a mismatch?
I would not do it, as they have historically not been a difficult speaker to drive. Is there something about the sound that is not appealing? You’d be better IMO to get a Vandy sub and the crossover between the pre and amp. that is not usually no...

@thyname I noticed your system photos seem to show no vinyl source??     He is likely creating a brand new username right now only to post my real name and threaten me with all kind of things. Sad creature. Here is the full list of his usern...
