Moving music from PC to Mac Wow. It's that easy? I thought I was going to have to edit an xml file or something.
Artists that sound alike - your best match-up I recently had the iTunes shuffle thing going while I was doing some other stuff around the house. One tune stopped me. I thought it was one of those Velvet Underground oddities from the box set, but when I checked the computer, it was Jonathan Ri...
Do you spend more on audio than your income allows Sure, but I spend more than my income allows on everything else, too!
Best Albums Of 2008 I'd add "Stay Positive" by The Hold Steady to the list. The album I kept on coming back to over and over and over again last year.
Celestion Sl-700 bolts Thanks, Rushton. I appreciate it.
Speaker/Equipment Placement I tried a bunch of different setups after moving into new digs two years ago -- equipment in between, equipment rack off to the side, moving everything to another wall and then trying both again. You get the idea. I always ended up enjoying the mu...
Please disclose your commercial affiliation I agree completely that all affiliations should be disclosed. Always. Just because you've mentioned once that you work for Company X, someone reading a post a month or a year later might not know that and think that you are offering legitimate adv...
Best cable for short monoblock runs? I used a pair of Cardas Neutral Reference with McCormack (modded) monoblocks and B&W Signature 805s, and was quite happy with the results. Neutral, indeed. I had previously been using Signal Cable, and the Cardas wires were a real improvement.
Floatin' along the iTunes stream until ... Thanks, Herman. I'm doin' the former, with A running iTunes accessing the shared library. I did have some dropout problems one afternoon, but otherwise it's been really good. Maybe I'll start to understand this one o' these days.
Remote control from the next room Thanks, guys. Perhaps I was in a Bad Buy rather than a Best Buy. Or maybe stopping by on the day after Christmas was singularly unwise. I'll hit another store this weekend.
Help for a blind audiophile I really do appreciate all of these kind offers -- and if I had a half a brain in my head, I'd try to find someone in my area -- but I really was hoping that someone could tell me if metal faces metal or if metal hooks into plastic -- and if this ...
Help for a blind audiophile Thanks for the kind idea, Wendell. But I've got a geek friend at work who should be able to do this for me, though probably not for a couple of weeks.(He don't know much about stereos, but he is good with computers, so I doubt this will be a probl...
Bookshelf Speakers That Bolt or Screw Into Stands The Celestion Sl-700s, which very occasionally turn up here for a reasonable price, had matching stands -- and bolts that attached speaker and stand. They were absolutely fabulous, but replacement parts are no longer available, so buy at your own ...
Budget Low-Capacitance Interconnects The entry-level interconnects from Signal Cable would also do the trick. (www.signalcable.com) From the Web site: "Nom. Capacitance - 28.5 pF/ft." Mind you, I wouldn't know from a picofarad if it sat down beside me at dinner and picked up the tab,...
rega 3-24 verses other similiar priced tables While I cannot exactly address your question, I can kind of come close. I had a very old P2 that I sold and replaced witha Music Hall MMF-5. From the first I was never happy with the Music Hall. I listen mostly to rock 'n' roll, and the Rega just ... |
