Dedicated AC line - Contractor wants to use BX instead of romex Reason million and one to not live in one of those God forsaken over regulated over taxed places.oh you mean the places where so many artists live, play, and create the music we listen to? They’re called cities and they’re the engine of a whole lo...
The Absurdity of it All @johnspain Agreed. Hard for some to accept, but what we perceive is something developed with others. Sure, we taste things or hear or see things with our particular apparatuses, but interpretation is a socially mediated ability, like language. Th...
mystery muffled mids Interesting that it happens with more than Zeppelin. MC makes a good point, and I assume his conclusion applies to the other bad recordings you mention. Some address this with a Loki equalizer. Sometimes that works.
I am getting some new tubes for my amp, and I want to do a 24-hour burn in. How? OP, gotcha. It does change the sound, and (again) it's interesting to hear the changes.I'm amazed at how many people are telling you to just plug it in -- as if there are not a million threads about tweaks, techniques, etc. You're asking a reasona...
I am getting some new tubes for my amp, and I want to do a 24-hour burn in. How? OP, just wondering why you want to burn in for 24 hours? What makes you want to do that? Obviously, it's not strictly necessary to do this, and it's ever so easy for people to tell you that, but I'm more interested in what you read or what you're ...
I am getting some new tubes for my amp, and I want to do a 24-hour burn in. How? +1 @melvinjames One of the interesting things about this hobby for me is trying to pay attention to different stages of break-in. People who I know who have been in this hobby for a long time will talk about the various changes that tubes and cabl...
I am getting some new tubes for my amp, and I want to do a 24-hour burn in. How? The way I've done burn in is to put on a track of pink noise and put on repeat, medium volume. I didn't go for 24 hours straight. I just kept a list -- day, number of hours, etc. Then each day, or overnight, I would put them on for, say 8 or more ...

Amazon Music and Bluesound Node 2i I am using Amazon on the Node and I downloaded the Amazon player app. It's much better -- song history, recommendations, related artists, Ultra HD playlists, go into the album of the song playing, lyrics, etc. Free download, huge improvement.
Townshend Audio F1 Fractal Interconnects - Less is More! @mahgister Yes, I want 20hz bass but I also want bass up to 40 hz. Take care.
Townshend Audio F1 Fractal Interconnects - Less is More! @mahgister Thank you. I understand. You're good with 40hz up.
Townshend Audio F1 Fractal Interconnects - Less is More! @mahgister I want to understand: when you say "Helmholtz resonators can take care of them at no cost" is "them" midrange, treble, and bass? If a DBA is $3k and podiums or pods come to, say, $3k -- well that's $6k of savings for the same result MC ...
Room size. @mahgister I have deleted my post. Clearly, I was out of line. Apologies.
Townshend Audio F1 Fractal Interconnects - Less is More! @millercarbon Yes, that makes excellent sense. Really appreciate how you detailed what each element does for the bass, so that individuals can prioritize based on their needs and preferences. You and @brownsfan have more or less convinced me of a D... |
