Let's talk power cords For those of you who have not posted your systems here...why not?
Let's talk power cords I wish a requirement of the Audiogon sign-up process involved revealing your system's details. It is much easier to weigh the gravity of a member's views on topics audio if you can view their system details to give context to their views.
Move your sub @avanti1960 +1! about always connecting subs from the main speaker amplifier. As you said, it integrates so much better with the main speakers. I cannot tell where the mains leave off and the subs pick up with the bass!
Conrad Johnson MF2550, What To Expect? @stereo5 Any updates about how the cj MF2550 amp is sounding in your system?
New Tweak --- Its Fantastic @thecarpathian Agree with your post above. My comments about the moderators are in no way meant to denigrate the hair-splitting nature of what they do to maintain a sense of civility on the various threads.Again, moderators, could you come up wi...
Vacuum tube suppliers Anecdotally, Andy at Vintage Tube Services seems to have a very loyal following and I have no reason to doubt the faith people have in his expertise. So far, the good news is, there are several fine options for sourcing tubes. In addition to Cry...
For tube sound, which is more important: preamp or power amp? Well said, atmasphere.
New Tweak --- Its Fantastic I mentioned a concern with the moderators in another thread (blue fuse?) about the lack of any rationale being provided by the moderators for deleted posts so those of us participating on the thread have some idea as to the type of things being po...
Move your sub Placement depends to some extent on what subs you are using. With the Vandersteen 2wq subs that I use, I need to keep them near each speaker as the subs reproduce frequencies high enough to affect imaging.
Vacuum tube suppliers Check out Ron Sheldon's Cryoset site. I have never had a bad experience with Cryoset. Their tubes sound great and last a l o n g time!
Recommended Preamp for pairing an Adcom 555II Amp and Theil CS 3.5 speakers @kalali You beat me to it! I was going to respond to George much as you did above that my anecdotal understanding of passive units is that the PRAT as the Brits like to call it, is diminished. I'm not making a categorical statement here, just t...
New Tweak --- Its Fantastic @oregonpapa I would very much enjoy hearing from Tim about his creation. Perhaps he can explain much that has led some on this forum to go on the attack against the TC claims.Do you agree with the following statement by thecarpathian about more...
New Tweak --- Its Fantastic I missed this thread started on Xmas Day. I have read all 6 pages of postings and as someone who has reviewed gear/tweaks in the past, I always re-read my own reviews to check on whether my review expresses genuine enthusiasm or if I have strayed...
Recommended Preamp for pairing an Adcom 555II Amp and Theil CS 3.5 speakers +1 pops! As I read your OP ?, the first thing to come to mind would be a vintage cj preamp. What a nice system that would give you!
Most satisfying system change in 2017? Three positive changes:1. Clear Day Audio Double Shotgun speaker cables (2 pair)2. Replacing PS Audio PPP with a P5. An enormous improvement.3. Replacing 24 year old Aragon 47k phono stage with Sutherland KC Vibe. |
