Thinking of selling my Snell E/III
I had a pair of Type E/IIIs’ that had the woofers professionally refoamed at Simply Speakers in Clearwater, FL. When I tried to sell them several years later I discovered that most would-be buyers balked when they realized that the woofers were re...
Most Beautiful Receiver / Integrated - Ever was... ?
The Symphonic Line Kraftwerk MK2  integrated amp was a sight to behold with not only a chromed face plate but a fully chromed mirror-like chassis.  Incredibly rare...can't remember the last time I saw one for sale.
Can upgraded power cords help my setup?
@dlcockrum Quote: BTW - add-on ferrite chokes not only kill the RF/EMI/digital hash (if they do) but also the sound. Try them and see. What a load of hooey. So you’ll admit that the ferrite chokes will block/filter the harmful effects of RF and EM...
Can upgraded power cords help my setup?
How about this affordable approach? Buy a sturdy 14 or 12-AWG power cord from a retailer that sells guitars, amps and other instruments. Then install a ferrite choke on each end, 6-inches from each connector. Done. Ferrite chokes reject RF and EMI...
Who listens primarily to Redbook CD?
I recently completed the 2nd step in my 3-Step Master plan by upgrading my Redbook CDP from a Linn Genki to a Linn Ikemi. The 3rd step may take some time because the price of admission is still more than I’m willing to pay at the moment: the Linn ...
Warm-up time.
In my experience it’s 20 minutes of actual playing time for a solid state amp.  So I throw on a CD, leave the room/go about my bidness and when I return the system is ready to pay some sweet sonic dividends.
What did you own in the 60's?
A Scott solid state all-in-one: AM/FM with a built in Garrard record player and separate 2-way speakers in walnut cabs. You’ll notice I didn’t say ’turntable’.The best I can say about it is that it played music. My most vivid memory was the box it...

Tell Us about an Album That Took a Long Time to Grow on You
Music From Big Pink. Yes. It’s true. I was very late to the party.Even though I was very familiar with "The Weight" I had never heard any other songs on the album. Eventually I bought the LP in ’72 because I heard "Chest Fever" on the radio and th...

Laura Fygi.Although she's not unknown she's still under the radar to most people.  Too middle-of-the road maybe?  Imho she shoulda been a contender.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ_OyBb_nCg&spfreload=5
