Shipping to Norway?
If they're speakers, I wouldn't ship them by air. The pressure change causes a lot of them to lose their ferrofluid. I guess they will leak it somewhere, and may cause damage. Maybe ask the manufacturer first to be sure.
Anyone replaced Fuse with Circuit Breaker?
Magfan, I'm familiar with the dual magnetos required for piston powered planes. Double needed to stay flying if the other fails. I'm also familiar with different ram air turbines (RAT) needed for a lot of airplanes, for hydraulic and electrical po...
Anyone replaced Fuse with Circuit Breaker?
Ryanvt, this is all new to me. I haven't heard of any breakers for audiophile gear like your speaking of. With the breakers I've seen, I don't see how they can make a more solid connection than a fuse whose connection is solid inside. No breaks in...
Anyone replaced Fuse with Circuit Breaker?
The OP of the thread amps have a setup similar to what I'm familiar with. The slow-blow fuse is on the back, for easy user replacement if needed. This one will handle the turn on inrush needed, especially more so to charge the power supply caps. T...
Anyone replaced Fuse with Circuit Breaker?
The test that was provided by Magfan was for an aircraft. He said the company was saving money. I don't know anything about that guys light aircraft. I think Cessna used breakers the same year his plane was built. It can get busy in a plane. So if...
Anyone replaced Fuse with Circuit Breaker?
Totally agree with what Almarg said.
Your thoughts on these different tubes?..
If you have an amp that will use a variety of these tubes, it won't be a true reflection of each various one, from another number family.IOW, an amp that can use a KT88/6550 type, and an EL34/6CA7 type, can't reflect the true sonics of each type. ...
Power Cord brands mixing. "Your Opinions"
Mix it to your liking, or buy a Bose. Even they have a variety of parts in them. Your the one that has to listen to it. What is good for one, is not good for all. What a boring stereo, and life that would turn out to be.
Power cord feeding a power conditioner/regenerator
I think claims like "this filter/regenerator TOTALLY isolates from electric line" are only marketing. If you had enough electronics background to analyze how some things work, you would most likely have a different opinion. A regenerator (if built ...
Phono pre direct to amp, what am I missing?
12-24-11: Vortrexalso, how much total gain is needed to make things sound "right"? It is not necessarily any needed gain. Sometimes there is just something else going on that makes it sound right. Maybe it is the blend of two components used toget...
Hey Electricians - Please help
This is a common problem. All home light switches arc inside them. An inductive load causes a larger spark, in most cases. Some florescent lights are worse yet. I have to change some new Leviton Decora switches (20 amp switches with just lights) w...
Problem with bi amping speakers
I guess the amp's protection kicking in has me worried. The amp running out of that much power just doesn't seem right. So something wrong must be happening.
Problem with bi amping speakers
Manitunc, hopefully you check the speakers out first, like Almarg suggested. He catches stuff the rest of us overlook. It's cheap insurance to do it first. I'm worried that the protection in the amp may not work 100% of the time, if it is somethin...
Who makes a good or decent CD recorder?
SCMS/MEDIA CONTROLThe first few shipments of the CD-RW700 shipped requiringconsumer CD-RDA and CD-RWDA. The original design did not callfor this, it was added at the last minute due to legal considerationsabout the CD-R market. All units that ship...
Problem with bi amping speakers
Manitunc, sorry for not being clear. I meant the manufacturers diagrams for the amps and speaker. You made your connection part clear.
