Need some help with an amp. I'm slow. Magfan's post appeared while I was doing mine. Same idea, except I forgot to ask about the balanced cable idea.
Need some help with an amp. Be careful about plugging in the ICs to the amp only. If you touch/bump the center pin on the RCA, it could wipe out your speakers. Getting back to the long ICs, it could be the design, or a defect. Maybe some with better shielding would work. It ...
Unfocused Sound stage Figure seven in this link is something on the idea I'm picturing could be happening, somewhere in the system. Link[http://www.amsky.com/~cirkuit/media/surround.html]
Digital cable impedance question Thanks Almarg. That was the part needed to make it complete, and a more appropriate link.
Digital cable impedance question I just looked on Google under "cable impedance measurement", and found some info. This may help for a starter. A lot of info on Google. [http://na.tm.agilent.com/8720/applicat/srlpaper.pdf]
Digital cable impedance question Just guessing, they must feed a high frequency the cable is designed to carry through it. How well it transfers the frequencies it will need to carry. Reflections in it, and stuff that's too complicated for me to describe. Signal loss, capacitance...
Unfocused Sound stage I have never heard of swapping the plus and minus connections on a passive speaker cause any amp damage either. Like Almarg said, if the speaker is AC powered somehow, or a powered subwoofer that may tie the two plus or minus outputs from the amp,...
pass labs xa30 to valve amplifier. Here in the US, in the '80s and early '90s tube (valve) amps started to get more popular again. A lot of these models were mellow, and a lot lacked detail. Nowadays, they have a variety of different sound characteristics. I'm not familiar with the...
220v/50hz to 120/60hz I should note that I have never done business with this person, and not sure of the pulley. I just found it on the web.
220v/50hz to 120/60hz They sell aftermarket replacement metal pulleys in both 50&60 Hz types. Maybe they could tell you. Also, if you go this route, ask if they are returnable. I would be careful about pulling the old one off, trying to not damage the motor. It may...
Receiver monoblocs You may be able to do this with half of the receiver. If you bridged it for 140 watts, it may go up in smoke. Only certain amps can do this, and must be designed to. You might be able to use both halves separately. In other words, two 70 watt amps.
Bose 901 series VI & Yamaha A-S2000 Now with all of the brick and mortar stores mostly gone, it makes it hard for someone buying anymore. The Creek is a good amp, but I don't know if it will have enough power for them. Those Bose 901 speakers really does a design flaw. Any of them fr...
Reciver/Integrated same sound? I haven't payed attention to the two for years. But, sometimes when you compare the specs of the two, and they are identical, it may be the same minus the tuner.
Wow, everything posted for sale is ''light use''?? While on the subject about ads, a lot of people have CD players/transports and other items that came with a remote. Some items have limited, or no functions without the remote. In their ads, there is no mention of them. When you email them, a lot ...
schematically speaking I assume you are new to electronics. See if you can find anything about discharging the power supply caps. A lot of amps will hold dangerous levels of voltage in their power supplies. Learn how to drain these (caps) first. Shutting an amp off whil... |
