HK t-60.....
I've read some pretty funny reviews from pissed off former owners of the HK linear tracking tables. Funny and former because after the tonearm auto-lifted and scratched a high end record, it got tossed out the window. I didn't even realize technic...
HK t-60.....
Free is good. Wondering if you had it serviced because of failed capacitor speed issues mentioned in a previous thread or just in for a new belt and cartridge? Keep your eyes open for a T65C. That one actually has a nice "bell and whistle" not on ...
HK t-60.....
Go to The Vinyl Engine where you can download the owner's and service manuals for both units. All units are very similar in appearance with slight differences in specs. I have a T60 and T65C, both of which have the floating 3 point suspension. Acc...
Phono Preamp for Grado Low Output Sonata1
Guma15-you have same setup as me? With nothing playing and the volume raised on my Forte, I hear hiss. No hum BTW. I've swapped cartridges, still hiss. No effect when I change the capacitance settings on my turntable either. The Forte is dead quie...
Pre-amp newbie question
Jrtrent: What is your favorite phono preamp when using a Grado low output cartridge? I use a Grado PH1 with a Grado Signature Sonata 1 and love the sound except for a little background hiss from the PH1.
Help with European/US turntable
Check with project. Some motors can be dual voltage and 50 or 60 cycle. Some tables can we rewired from 220 to 110. Project engineers should be able to advise you.
Anybody own any direct-to-disc LP's?
They were great, but you should check out Analogue Productions 45 rpm singles by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Susie Q might be the best sonics I ever heard.
3 Tonearms 1 preamp
It's obvious to me now. You need a 9 position switch so you can run 3 cartridges through 3 preamps onto your high level input. Then, you can really customize your sound!!!(took me 3 scotches to have this epiphany). Three is apparently the magic nu...
3 Tonearms 1 preamp
I have 2 cartridges now, a Grado Signature 8 on a spare headshell and a Grado Reference Sonata 1 that I listen to. I recently swapped back the Signature just to check it out again, but I didn't even bother finishing one side. The Sonata was so muc...
3 Tonearms 1 preamp
Unfortunately, finances are always the impediment. My preamp (Forte 44) has 5 high level inputs, so I could get away with 3 discrete tonearm/preamps. If I were limited to one preamp input, I'd probably swap cables whenever I decided to listen to a...
3 Tonearms 1 preamp
I remember talking to one of Stuart Hegeman's technicians back in the early eighties about modifying my Hapi 2. He emphatically advised me that it was a bad idea. It seems that the topography of a preamp is very important and is taken into conside...
Turntable speed slow with quartz lock
Fixed it! Replaced all electrolytic capacitors in speed control circuit myself. Now runs dead on balls steady. BTW, the table ran slow with quartz lock on or off, so it wasn't just the quartz circuit. I suspected C117 in the speed circuit, but rep...
