Grounding Rod I'm not a licensed electrician, but here's how it was explained to me by a licensed electrician:There should be only one ground point in your home's electrical system. More than one can cause a ground loop potential. The only other time you would ...
HK t-60..... Mark-It's not the pulley, that's ridiculous. Even if it did wear away over time, that would not cause the occasional speed dips when out of quartz lock mode. Did the service manual actually suggest that? I would have suspected a bad belt before a ...
HK t-60..... Wayside-Glad to hear that worked out for you. When I first got my T60 I tried mounting a Micro Acoustics cartridge and it simply didn't work. It skipped all over the place and sounded terrible when it did track. That's when I learned about things ...
vintage amps I like my Aragon 2004 and 4004. The "poor man's Krell" can be had used for less than $400 if you are patient.
Golden Tube Audio SE-40 What do you think it's worth? How much should I offer?
Anyone checked out Keith Richards new book? I'm reading it right now. The first chapter was a hoot. Second chapter was a little slower as it described his childhood. The excerpts I read in "Rolling Stone" magazine got me interested. He's a rare character.
Of Moving Magnets - Step ups - and phono stages It's too bad there aren't any hifi stores with demo rooms anymore, at least not in my vicinity. Back in the day, you got to listen before you purchased.
Of Moving Magnets - Step ups - and phono stages I wondered if I could do that. Look for my previous thread "Can I use a Step Up Transformer with low output MM?" Here are parts of the thread:"The problem is that you can't do that. While a transformer transforms voltage in proportion to its turns...
HK t-60..... This link explains cartridge to tonearm matching better than I ever could..http://www.theanalogdept.com/cartridge___arm_matching.htmThe test record can be used to verify the results
HK t-60..... You should check out the test record I mentioned. The resonance tests are pretty cool and I haven't found a better way to set anti skate. There's also a test for azimuth.
Of Moving Magnets - Step ups - and phono stages Can't use a SUP with a MM. I asked that one a couple of weeks ago and got some pretty technical reasons why not. Look for "Can I use a step up transformer with low output MM"in this analog forum
HK t-60..... Wayside-what cartridge did you use and what did your T55C sit on? Was your cartridge a proper match for the Microrace tonearm? Compliance and weight must be considered. Did you use the HiFi news test record to identify your cantilever and tonearm'...
What are the optimal percentages for analog system Again. Think about the cartridge you want, then find the arm/table that can handle it BEST. Go to:http://www.theanalogdept.com/cartridge___arm_matching.htmfor a nice explanation about cartridge/arm matching with examples. Maybe your table/arm will...
What are the optimal percentages for analog system Figure out what cartridge you want, then find a table/tonearm that can handle it. Get the table first. When you have the money, get the cartridge. And when you really want to hear it sing, get the phonostage. Spend as much as you can on the table,...
HK t-60..... I believe your tech, that's why I fixed my T60. The 3 point suspension I mentioned isolates the tonearm/platter/motor from the plinth. I agree, ebay can be iffy, so you might want to check out vinyl nirvana if you ever get the itch. He only works ... |
