Lamm LP2 and WE417A tubes
Well Romy, I agree we have nothing more to say about the LP2. Thanks (I guess) for coming clean and admitting that from the beginning you intended to deceive us. Now that we know you cannot be trusted to be forthcoming we can factor that into our ...
Lamm LP2 and WE417A tubes
I apologize for my my poor use of the English language. What I meant to convey was that I did not choose either of the reviewers sides, but that I would stick with my own assessment, it is a fine stage. To call me an audio zombie is an insult that ...
Preamp design approach - Power Supply location
The perceived advantage is that getting the transformers away from the line level signals will result in better noise performance, no AC in the preamp box to contaminate the signal. This approach has merit but introduces the possibilty that noise ...
hard 's'
If being off axis sounds good then adjusting toe in is your first priority. I am not familiar with your speakers but some sound better pointed directly at you, some straight ahead, and most somewhere in between.Try them at both extremes first (str...
Lamm LP2 and WE417A tubes
There was nothing to support his position that it was not accurate other than his perceptions. I think it is very accurate. Who is correct? He did not like the sound of it and went into great detail to make his point, but at the end of the day it ...
Lamm LP2 and WE417A tubes
I read the article and could not disagree more. Despite the misleading statements about the WE tubes, this unit never fails to bring out the best in my system. I think it sounds wonderful.
noise thru tube pre??
As pointed out, your tube is not microphonic just because you hear something when you tap on the case. If it just rings on its own or it continues to ring after you tap then it is microphonic. Those who think tube gear is always noisy are sadly mi...

That was mean spirited Badbunnyr, you really are a bad bunny.
Why do people write mean things about musicians

Absorbers or Diffusors for 1rst/2nd refl. points?
http://www.eighthnerve.com/response.htmlTry some of these first. A new, more effective line is coming out soon. I have some prototypes and they are very effective. You need them anyway so you might as well start at the beginning. Eighth Nerve does...
RIP RL Burnside
RJ died too?
What's the best s.s. integrated for Khorns?
I would go with a tube amp, but if you want solid state, and I understand the desire to avoid tubes, then the 2 I've used succesfully with my Duos were a Naim Nait 5i (50 watts, $1500 new) and the Avantgarde model 5 (25W, $3,500 new). Both very mu...
Sound Quality of New Blue Note Jazz LP Reissues
Where do you get them? Vinyl?
Soliloquy 6.2 Very Poor Treble .....
I kind of like the speakers if I could get them to sound a little better. I'm not quite sure how to repond to that. Kind of like this would be a pretty good meal if it didn't taste so bad.I'm sure that modifying the crossover and/or replacing the ...
Is solid state obsolete?
The key is matching the amp to the speaker. There is no such thing as an amp that will work well with all speakers or a speaker that can be driven well by any amp.A tube pre amp and an IC based power amp, can it be the best combo? The best? I don't...
