Feet/platform for Nola Vipers speakers
Ok, I should have done a search first but I found my solution. The wife will be very happy.
Alon/Nola sound
$50,000 speakers have to sound pretty extraordinary. Unfortunately, I don't believe I will be in the market for such a speaker unless I hit the lottery!
Alon/Nola sound
what type of sources are you using? CD, vinyl, Itunes? and what manufacturers. I currently have a Musical Fidelity A5 cdp which I like. Im looking into turntables, but that purchase won't happen until a few months from now.
Alon/Nola sound
I agree with all of the above. I liked the Alon sound from the moment I heard the Alon I's and II's in the early 90's. I heard them with Mccormack and Acurus power amps at first. Don't recall if I ever heard them with tubes. I would still love to ...
Alon/Nola sound
I have the Nola Viper iia and I like them. This dealer use to cary Alon/Nola, and one of the shop owners use to rave about them. Jrinkerptdnet, I guess you're right about some sales people, if they don't sell it, its not as good as the stuff they ...

Has anyone ever heard/tried the Manley gear with Alon/Nola speakers? Please share your thoughts.
Has anyone compared the Nola Viper IIa's..
I have purchased the IIA's since starting this thread, and while I do still believe that the References are in a different class, by no means do I frown upon the performance of the IIA's, especially when you consider that I paid less than $2,000 f...

Thanks for your response, Prince. Its been a while since I've been to the site and just saw this. Im a little surprised with 30 watts being sufficient, but based on what you've owned you seem to be well versed with the Alon/Nola sound and what mak...

Prince, I thanks for the info. I have been looking at VTL as well. I will have to limit my choices, though, as we all know there are so many options out there. It can drive you crazy!

Carl sent me an email and stated that 55 watts or so, should be good for average listening in a medium size room. However, if I want to crank it up, 100 watts are preferred. I would err to the side of having too much than too little.

Very helpful thoughts, guys. The Nola Vipers are not very sensitive (86db) I believe, so I know I need some current to push them. If 60 tube watts is all I need to properly drive them, then I will begin concentrating on some tube integrateds, or l...
Primaluna and Rogue
Mordante, integrateds are not out of the question. If I can get a a quality integrated with the power to suit my speakers, I would have no problem with that. My only concern with tube integrateds is that I really don't know how much tube power wou...
Primaluna and Rogue
Thanks for your responses. While I'm not ignoring the issues brought up about where products are being built, my bigger concern is great sound and quality build, and that's the end of my thoughts on that topic.Back to the original topic. Saki, the...
