McIntosh cable for XRT28 & 1201 amp Take a look at the LAT International line, and at my review of their speaker cable SS 1000 MkII here in the review archives. I found my way to LAT on recommendation of ljgj, who is a fellow McIntosh-user as well. LAT is great, especially if you do...
ExactPower EP15A Babybear,I decided to let my better PC/s (PS Audio Statement and Shunyata Black Mamba) work with my amps and front-end, and usemy Shunyata Sidewinder and a HMS PC with the EP-units. I did not really compare different settings, because I found that...
ExactPower EP15A "And yes, all the front end stuff performed even better with balanced power: blacker background on digital and almost imperceptable noise and hum on phono."Exactly my experience as well. Robert Stein from the Cable company, who sold me my Exact Po...
Review: LAT International SS 1000 Mk II Speaker cable Ozzy,as you apparently do not realize: the equipment I own is state-oft-the-art at every step. I stand by every word I wrote, and have given plenty of comparisons in the review. In addition, LAT is not kidding anyone, as you can easily see when yo...
Is the Eichmann Bayonet Plug the best banana plug? Go over to the review section for my LAT International review. I described the effects of changing a ordinary plug for the Eichmann there
Audionet ART V.2 In fact, the Art V2 can be ordered as a transport only. That´s what I did, for using it with a Chord DAC-64. As a transport, it´s outstanding.
thinking about replacing my Shahinian Arcs with... As a fellow Shahinian owner of both Obelisks and Diapasons, let me tell you that Shahinian sure does not make the world´s only speakers worthy of listening to. But once you have get used to their omni-/semidirectional acoustical presentation, you ...
Review: Ridge Street Audio Poiema Signiture Interconnect Well Robert, I do not want to downgrade your cables. They are fine cables, and indeed we had a lengthy e-mail-exchange about a whole set of cables. The set being expensive, and me willing to take a try first, I took the chance of buying one used P...
Review: Ridge Street Audio Poiema Signiture Interconnect About a year ago, I asked around what might be an upgrade to my all-system LAT International cable line. A few people recommended to try Pure Note or Ridge Street Audio`s Poiema!. I bought one RSA-Poiema!-Interconnect here on audiogon. When I put ...

McIntosh MC402 I just tried to run a Benchmark DAC-1 I bought for a friend to run into my MC402. It worked fine, actually. The Benchmark´s output level can be adjusted, in fact, by switching internal jumpers. I listen to vinyl, too, and I only had the Benchmark ...
Omnidirectional speakers for home theater? No slouch, I use them as front speakers only, but have tried two pairs as front and rear speakers (Diapasons in the front, Obelisks as rear). With omnis - or at least with the Shahinians - you do not really need a center speaker. At least I never ...
Omnidirectional speakers for home theater? I use my Shahinian Obelisks for HT, and it works alright, in fact easier than with conventional speakers, as omnis spread a wider soundfield, and allow more listeners to sit in a realistic soundfield, rather than in a tight sweetspot.
Schroeder arms: order of merit? Another arm German afficionados have favorably compared to the Schroeder is the Scheu Tacco, which is considerably cheaper. See scheu-analog.de, there is an English version and contact, too.
Radio interference on my phono stage May I add a question for the solution of a similiar problem. I run a Scheu Premier (Eurolab) TT in to a McIntosh C200 preamp. I use both an Ortofon Venice MC and a Cartridge Man Music Maker III into the MM-input of the Mac. Woth the Ortofon, no pr... |
