MC402 vs FPB 300cx Again on the power output of the 402: Mhelming is right - 400 watts are only the published minimum. The German magazine Audio reviewed the 402 and measured it and found, depending on the tap and the load, that the 402 was able to deliver up to mor...
McIntosh MT-10 Turntable -- thoughts/expectations As far as the McIntosh-site on audiokarma goes, the TT is built by Clearaudio of Germany, not by McIntosh. There is already an ongoing, mostly negative discussion over there - most Mc-fans don´t like the look for a TT.
MA 6900 vs. MC 402. Anyone Step Up? I upgraded from a MA6500 to a combo of C200 and 402. While the 6900 is above the 6500, it is not by much so, so I think my experience may be relevant for you. Yes, the difference was dramatic: both from the preamp part of the 6500 to the C200, the...
Speaker's Corner.....Best of the Best ? Strongly have to disagree with thomasheisig: I have bought more than 10 Speakers Corner and the same amount of Classic records in the last two years. Whereas I am content with the Classic records vinyls overall, two of ten had slight production fa...
Shahinians and Films I use Obelisks for HT and find them excellent and better than conventional speakers especially because they allow a much wider sweet spot and give a more realistic acoustic landscape for more viewers and listeners. Somec59 has a point, however, th...
Esoteric X-01 D2 Right Alwyn, but what is your question? If there isn´t any, I would be glad to hear about your experiences with the Esoteric, and what you compared it to.Regards, Florian Hassel
Accustic Arts Dev,one more question: How does the Oracle CD 1000 hold up to the AA Drive I MkII? Same performance level, better, worse?Regards, Florian Hassel
Accustic Arts ...and one more thing: Dev, you didn´t by any chance compare one of the Esoteric units or transports to the Oracle, or Accustic Arts? Or did somebody else? From what I have learned so far, I am now thinking about Esoteric - but then, which unit - ...
Accustic Arts Dev,Thank you very much for the insightful posting. Now the question is - at least for me: Does not only the Oracle CD 2000 sound better than the Accustic Arts, but also his younger, and cheaper brother, the CD 1000- transport? You did not do by a...
Plinius SA-250MKIV vs Bryston 14B-SST Sutts, the Plinius sounds very well, but it gets quite hot, the cooling area and the rest of the amp are quite sharp, and with a baby coming along it might be not the best choice. (The same is true for Pass amps.) As far as baby´s safety is concern...
McIntosh MC402 vs. Bryston 4B SST I think as well that all these are very fine amps. Before going for a Plinius, however, one should be well aware that one needs a large, good-ventilated room, because their amps, working in class-A most of the time, double as additional room-heate...
Has anybody heard the new Nagra CD Player? The Nagra seems to be state-of-the-art in a single box:The leading German HiFi-magazine Stereo reviewed the Nagra in its February, 2007, issue. They found it to sound substantially better than their up-to-the-review reference, the Esoteric X-01. ...
MC402 vs FPB 300cx Jc51373, the quote "I was disappointed when I first got it. The bass was there alright, but the highs sounded harsh, voices sharp." is correct - but not the context. As I wrote as well, and mentioned in this thread, all this completely changed aft...
MC402 vs FPB 300cx Jc51373,to everybody his opinion. However, I do not think it makes sense to say a company would make a better product any time, nor does it make sense to say that McIntosh and Krell are in two completely different classes. They are different amps ...
MC402 vs FPB 300cx Jc51373, you judge too quickly. The 402 takes weeks to brake in properly, and is in no way slow, harsh in the mids or shrill in the highs, or only enjoyable with jazz. My own 402 disappointed me in exactly the same way that you describe now, howev... |
