Impedance mismatches between pre and amp do this? Awesome Bundee! Glad to hear it worked out.Whether your music should sound live or studio recorded is totally up to you. Many people try to build a system that reveals the "true" nature of the performance. I on the other hand like my music flavore...
Flexible power cable My Blue Circle BC62 power cord is very flexible. Quite a contrast from my other Virtual Dynamics cords. The Acoustic Zen Tsunami was somewhere in between, probably closer to the Blue Circle in ease of use.
Do you have a dedicated listening room? I have a dedicated listening room that is also dedicated to DirecTVing, TIVOing, sleeping, computing, and well...
Impedance mismatches between pre and amp do this? The preamp section of the Arcam is a passive unit? I didn't realize that. THAT could explain the whole thing. A 33K Ohm input impedance for a power amp might be a bit too low being fed by a passive pre, especially if the output voltage on your sou...
Impedance mismatches between pre and amp do this? I tried to find some specs on you gear. I found tech specs for the Arcam A65Plus, but not the B&K ST-140. The closest I could find was the ST 125.1/2/3For the Arcam A65+ preamplifier outputs are listed as, nominal output level 510mV and output...
System warmup? Maybe it's because your system needs a signal passing through it for fifteen minutes to really warm it up.I'm my case however, it may be more the "Human Factor" as Onhwy61 points out. My ass needs to settle in the chair before my ears work properl...
Benefits of power conditioning Since you have the Blue Circle moniker you might consider one of their Music Rings. I'm getting an MR1200, so it should be fun.http://www.bluecircle.com/index.php?menu_id=70
Telarc recording quality I'm not a big fan of Telarc recordings, as a matter of fact I avoid them. While they often convey lots of information, to me they sound rather cold and clinical, and sometimes rough around the edges. I much prefer the JVC XRCDs.
keeping collection organized????? My collection is as organized as an old bookstore after an earthquake.
looking for a warm ss amp.... Hi Fishcall,I believe the DNA 0.5 is rated at 100wpc and the DNA 1 at 185wpc, so I'm pretty sure the either McCormack can drive the Paradigms quite well. The 3802 is designed to drive multiple speakers for a home theater. Many more compromises have...
looking for a warm ss amp.... I'll restate what I said earlier.Try to find a used McCormack DNA 0.5 or DNA1 for under $800. They come up for sale very often, and they are outstanding amps! Power, finesse and some warmth. From what I can tell, you've said nothing about using thi...
Blue Circle 21.1 vs Eastern Electric Minimax Thanks for the tip Taypfiji, I'll have to check that out.Sorry if I gave the wrong impression, but actually I thought the MiniMax sounded quite good. It just wasn't the type of sound I find the most enjoyable.I think the MiniMax deserves another t...
Blue Circle 21.1 vs Eastern Electric Minimax Kck,If you made it through that review, I should also add that I heard the BC21.1 playing through a BC28 to Martin Logan Aerius speakers in the Blue Circle room at the last Vegas CES. The sound was much less colored than what I listen to, but stil...
Blue Circle 21.1 vs Eastern Electric Minimax here are "some" of my impressions. If you want to skip around, findthe subheadings that interest you. This could have been way longer so if you haveany questions feel free to ask away.Well, after a great deal of listening to the five preamps I've ...
