Linn connectors? Audioquest makes a really nice set of the BFA (British Federation of Audio) connectors which are needed for the outputs on the Classik. These are MUCH better than the cheap Deltron BFA connectors that Linn offers.Cardas (www.cardas.com) made me a ...

Are more expensive speakers better? Don't waste your money on speakers. Save it for expensive cables instead. The cable manufacturers will be glad you did...
What High End Manufacturers Could Learn From Bose Actually, both Martin Logan (marked-and-bloated) and Krell (smell) DO market to the masses. About two years ago, both lines began to appear in the SoundTrack chain retail stores. That confirmed what I had always thought about tonally inacurate equ...
which speaker recomendations for this system... Sell the Yamaha and buy a quality new 24 bit / 192 kHz "upsampling" CD player that also is able to decode HDCD discs. I think Cary, Electrocompaniet, and Accuphase all produce good units that will do this.
Pros / Cons of Vacuum Option - Basis Debut V The vacuum option is a nice feature. I'd go with it and never look back. I believe that it makes a BIG difference for all records, both new and old. There are no cons of which I am aware. The only suggestion I'd offer is to put the vacuum unit in ...
What's your opinion on Transparent Power cords vs I'd go with the top-of-the-line Siltech power cords. VERY expensive, but worth every penny. You might even want to get a bulk spool of the Siltech, and have an electrician run it from your outlets all the way to the breaker panel.

Come on, this seems like nothing more than a souped-up modern version of the embarassingly awful quadrophonic scheme from the 70's. I think that multi-channel audio will be used by the "e...
Yet another power cord question... I agree with Lak on the dedicated circuit. I had this done in my house, and it's REALLY effective, and affordable. Like Lak says, go for the 20 AMP circuit, even though it's more than is needed for your current amplifier. It won't cost much more t...

what is the best super speaker and why? I've only seen these on the Kharma website, but for $1M USD, they better be good. Has anyone heard these?
Need Detail/ Resolution with Impact and Weak Bass Westlake Lc4.75 monitors powered by Boulder L3 preamplifier and Boulder 102 power amplifier. The resolution will be state-of-the-art, with all the impact you can shake your tonearm at. Since the smallest Westlakes use a 4" woofer, your rolled-off ...
Walking that fine line: What would you do ? Sounds like you have put together a system that could be described as "reference." It reproduces the source material. Nothing more, and nothing less.I would say that's a good thing. That's what many spend BIG bucks trying to achieve. What gear are...
More cones? Seriously, lots of crap out there for BIG bucks. I've had excellent results by simply placing a common brick (not the silly VPI one) on top of each component, with felt pads in between to prevent scratching. |
