A perfect song? What are your choices?
@cd318  Donovan is making a big comeback. judging from vinyl prices

Bobby Darin has a lot to contribute to this post.
What should I upgrade first on my budget system?
I would not call it a budget system. Biggest bang for the buck? The turntable? I know nothing about your speakers but they look very serious. Not the best match to your amp though, depending on your space/room size  (very broad generalization: i...
To pricey
@lalitk i had heard them, in my home. I didn't like them. Other people love them. That's exactly how it works, we find that there is no ultimate list, we all have different favorites.
To pricey
@801d  "any other brands to consider" B&W would not be in the top 10 of my list. Dynaudio, Totem, Revel, Monitor Audio are all great in smaller spaces which is what I have and I tested these and were very happy with them. BBC ones - I have ...
To bolt Standmounts to stands, or not?
I used LOCTITE fun-tak mounting putty (and never looked back). Its name may vary, like Bluetac in Europe?
To pricey
they are not. We can split it, so that you only pay 50%
how were copies of vinyl made in "third-party" countries
@whart  cool, thank you. I am amazed by how different they sound and how my rating in the store fails me. I only buy records for myself and I only buy used and these pointers are very useful. Now I have to see if I can apply it :)

@whart definitely reminds me of the movie "Juliet, Naked" - the getting in contact part. What you are describing is somewhat blurred to me by the MoFi story.  Is this a fair assumption? >> old LPs (pre 90s) may be inferior quality but lik...
Most underrated female recording artists..
Joanie Sommers - the biggest range and the most beautiful voice for sure, I have ever heard Frazey Ford - the indie queen Sally Carr - no words, her voice will do it I saw some Hungarian names: Zsuzsa Cserhati was a super-talent, and Zalatnay a...

@steve_wisc  I enjoy it a lot too. I learned way more than if I had googled it for hours. Some of these commenters are the coolest, most knowledgeable people!
Starting from scratch in a large room
this thread definitely has a lot of "amazing" suggestions and explains why audiophiles are ridiculed. The dude wants good sound, from a good looking system. He doesn't want Doc Brown crawling on the floor finding imperfections that affect the sou...

@bkeske yes I am sure it varies within a country, a factory, a time of day, as I am learning here. I probably wouldn't play my russian copies much these days anyway.
Starting from scratch in a large room
@sandstone expensive cables at this point will be a total waste

@bkeske  my Russian LPs are way worse than the rest. And the Hungarian ones after 1985 are way worse than pre1985
