If there was only ONE album/cd/release you can listen to, over and over............. Blonde on Blonde + 1 I would be fine with one of these 3 also Abbey Road Out of the Blue Spencer Davis group - the best of the - not to cheat but their LP releases are all over the map
Candidates for best speakers in the $2000-5000 market This may be the most asked question in the aspiring audiophile’s mind: best speaker for $2500 ($5000 new in the used market) followed by "but what amp now???" I know it’s a cliche but Dynaudio Contour 20 (the Evoke 30 is on sale for ridiculous p...
Vinyl record cleaning I also tried the local waterfall. Hold the records where the pressure is the highest, if they break, use the oven the meld them back together. Nature always works the best.
Japanese Luxman Integrated Amps I moved 4 times between Europe and the US with hi-fi gear and used basic (but not cheapest junk) converters without any problem for decades.
New MOFI speaker (Andrew Jones) @gb9746 that's pretty cool. regarding the stands, that's exactly what I predicted (I know nothing about the sound so I criticize the design :) ) Their size puts them between categories: too big as a bookshelf, not tall enough to sit on the floor...
What now? @twilightround you are special :) you can try Crutchfield and Amazon 60 days no cost about 8 great brands combined. I would say your room is OK but your listening position is definitely a little unusual. Because of your space, culturally, I wou...
What now? there are literally 2-3 posts every week in the speaker section asking for recommendation in the 2-3-4-5 grand range, with 100s of comments
Candidates for best speakers in the $2000-5000 market my winner was the Dynaudio, close 2nds were Totem, SF and Revel speakers. your post is confusing, I don't get it
Has anyone listened to or auditioned Verity's new Arindale speaker ? @garebear I see your point, it's a hit or miss. I was lucky, most of my questions generated very useful responses. half of the discussions here are pretty lame, I am here for the other half...
Has anyone been able to define well or measure differences between vinyl and digital? @dsnyder0cnn you are correct, I thought of that afterwards. I should have said "from the finished product" I can also add, the whole vinyl pressing process doesn't fix, alter, improve, up or down sample the grooves
Has anyone listened to or auditioned Verity's new Arindale speaker ? @garebear you expected us to stay on-topic? :)
Has anyone been able to define well or measure differences between vinyl and digital? @mahler123 even if the source was digitized, the vinyl will be analog. It will be different but still analog. Analog is not always or sometimes better. It's always different. I have 2 or 3 copies of my favorite LPs and CDs, Each LP sounds very...
Has anyone listened to or auditioned Verity's new Arindale speaker ? @larry5729 if I had money to buy them, I'd probably pay off my mortgage, buy a 10K speaker from my wish list and be happy as a mutt. (I'd have some money left for paying off student loans)
Why are there so many wooden box speakers out there? There is no material that miraculously converts sound energy into heat I am pretty sure women can do that (btw you mean waves?)
Has anyone been able to define well or measure differences between vinyl and digital? @cleeds What makes you think that? overanalyzing everything. |
