Awful sound from B&W's: Break In needed?
I had a pair of 703 that I "broke in" for 4 months, still harsh, even with tube gear. I ended up selling them.

Gotcha, yes, I down sized my speakers as well. From B&W 703 to Tyler Acoustic Ref. Monitors. Love the Tylers!

I had B&W 703 paried with Cary/AES tube six pac mono amps. The B&W were VERY bright, I could not listen to them for very long a moderate to loud volumes. I gave them about 300 hours to break in, still way too bright. I sold them and bought...

Check out fenderforum.com. People around here are into "home" tube amps, not guitar amps. You probably need new tubes.

Dave - actually I purchased a Heritage 575 (2005 model), very similiar to the Gibby 175, made in the old Kalamazzo, MI factory. I also have a Heritge 535, like a Gibby 335. They are fantasic guitars! I have a Tele and a Gretsch 6120 Nashville also...
