Looking for really fine cables at really low price
Volley, very slight difference in my rig. Not a big difference. Just a tad more scale and increased stage size. Tad more fullness in the bass. That's really it.My rig is very resolving and a little more weight or bass body was good for my system.
Hot off the press: Yggdrasil review
No magic in the R2R ladder, just another design. It is always about how well a particular design is executed. Yes some may love the Yiggy, some may not as it always comes down to system synergy. The owners did share that the unit turns brighter as...

Bcgator, you can buy the Luxman for $2700 on Amazon. Japanese model. You can buy them used as I did for $2200 here on the Gon. 15 days is not enough time for the unit to break-in and I find there is something wrong with your post. I said up front t...

Just to give a different perspective so readers here can hear it all. I know of three owners who sold this dac within 3 months of ownership. I know of another two having issues with the unit and it having to be repaired. The previous owners prefer...
Looking for really fine cables at really low price
I am using WE10 gauge stranded cable now for speaker cable. I like it a tad more than the WE16. I use the WE16 for ICs, but for best results they should be shielded. I liked the shielded WE16 quite a bit more than the Belden. The Belden is very go...

Great. Let me know! I am building a tube preamp using a design inspired by several great preamps I respect. I will need two power cords for it as it is a true dual mono. I want to make these same power cords for it!

I should add that I built a set of speaker cables using WE10 gauge stranded and tinned. Same exact wire just thicker gauge. I like them even more and they are my main speaker cables now. I would not use the 16ga cable for power however and suggest...

No, but I will now! Still enjoying my WE speaker and IC cables. Best I have heard!
Top 10 low gain line stages
The Lightspeed and other LDR units will work wonderfully with your high sensitivity system. I used it with your amp and it was wonderful! Look no further. Again, I have heard your amp with this passive and am not guessing. I was about to respond t...
Suggest budget CDP to use as transport
Do not buy that old Pioneer. Simply too old and it will indeed need servicing before you want to. Big hassle factor. Another great solution is to buy a new Emotiva CD player. They work wonderfully as a transport and sound pretty darn good as a cd ...
Suggest budget CDP to use as transport
Get the CEC....no brainer! Awesome transport that a Rotel or other player will not match!
Review: Lahave Audio Khara Speaker
Bob, I bet those 2a3 amps combined with the shocking resolution and dynamic impact of your speakers is a joy to listen two. I have always liked your speaker and wondered how they would sound with the right tube amp. Ernie, now you have to buy a Lu...

Sorry. Typo. The DA 06. The Yamamoto dac is very good and my favorite until the Luxman showed up. However the Luxman has a retail price of $5000 and that is twice the current price of the Yamamoto. I purchased mine for a great price used and it is...
Review: Lahave Audio Khara Speaker
Thanks Bob. I have decided to keep my speakers. I listened to several good high effeciency speakers, but the sound of my speakers was, in the end, more to my liking. My SET amp really opened up after burn in and it drives my speakers very well now...
Toe-in recommendation for stand mount monitors
I say overdo it! Yes indeed. Have the drivers cross 1-3 feet in front of your head meaning your speakers will have extreme toe in when nearfield listening. Try this as many use it and report stellar results. This works best with two way speakers!I...
