Cleaning records. How often really? Ct0517:I'd be very interested to hear if All-Spec will confirm that the former Premier record cleaner contains the exact same ingredients as the Electrical Contact Cleaner.
What music do you use to audition equipment/cables I use a number of tracks, but one that always works is----Low Spark of High Heeled Boys---Traffic
What's a contender to an Audio Reference 5 SE? I find ARC tubes to be not quite as transparent as the best ss, but almost always sounding more like live music to me. I call it the breath of life. That's what makes one a tube vs ss fan. I can, of course, understand the ss point of view. Neither...
Squeeze Concert including one odd tidbit I am a Squeeze fan and have seen them 3 times in their prime. I will be seeing Difford and Tillbrook in December. To compare them with Lennon McCartney as a songwriting team--let alone to find them better, must be from one who does not truly know ...
Anyone Attend RMAF? This NY show was not so good. A new show record was set for the percentage of rooms in which I heard Dark Side of the Moon and Hotel California.
TUBE AMP LOVERS - What SS amp makes you smile??? D'agostino Momentum
Rowland's new integrated amp Yes. They were Lawrence speakers and the combo sounded great as did the Soundsmith room. My two favorites at the NY show. Hope they bring it back to nyc next year.
why do people feel the need to buy expensive cable I hear notable differences between stock cables and the brands I have used and/or tested in my system from Stealth, Sainline, Audioquest, Cardas, Kimber, Nordost and Shunyata. Every one of the above cables has made a difference, almost without exc...
ARC Reference 10 melting polycarbonate cover The top needs about 4 inches to breathe. This is a common complaint if it does not. The last I heard, you could buy a metal top plate, but ARC claims it has a slight negative impact on sound.
ARC ref 210 vs ref 150 The Ayres were very very good. They were not quite as powerful on the bottom end as the Dags. But the difference between the Ayres and the ARC was simply the difference between excellent tubes and excellent solid state. Better bloom, 3d presentat...
ARC ref 210 vs ref 150 The Ref 150 is a great amp with original KT 120s or with KT 150s which I installed at Dave Gordon's recommendation prior to introduction of the SE series. They both sound great, the KT 150s slightly more so IMHO. Not a night and day difference so ...
ARC ref 210 vs ref 150 I've had both in my system for direct comparison. The Ref 210s provided slightly more expansive and deeper soundstage and (my guess is) should provide more power at fairly extreme listening levels. My test did not go beyond 95 dbs at my listening ...
"All Things Must Pass"-Tower Records Documentary Every week I took at least one trip to the Tower on the upper west side NYC and once there, would usually spend an hour looking and listening. Hard to walk out without buying something. Saw many Broadway performers, tv stars and rock luminaries sh...
Preamp for Dan D'Agostino Momentum monoblock amps I tried ARC Ref 40 with Dag amp in house for 1 week. It was a great combination.
"Pressing Vinyl" I would guess MOFI either owns its own plant or uses no more than 2 plants to press their records to exacting specs. The vinyl from MOFI is just too similar in every pressing in weight, touch, feel and playback clarity for it to come from many pla... |
