Wilson Sasha W/P amplifier pairing
I owned the Sasha series 1s with ARC Ref 150s before my current Alexia 2s with ARC Ref 160 monos. I also had the Sashas in house with the D’Agostino Momentum 250S. I heard them many times at my dealer who often paired them with the Lamm 1.2s. You...
The Beatles Revolver
@tylermunns  I'm listening to the White album remaster on vinyl right now and just happened to come across your post. I think Giles did a great job as well on the White album. He did an equally great job on Revolver. I like the originals and to m...
What is the “World’s Best Cartridge”?
Come back Mike. Don't surrender to the jerks. Jerks should lose not win. Hope to see you on another thread.
Roger Waters Live Last Night in Glendale,AZ
I don’t agree with Waters’ positions and viewpoints on many things. However, he can call out American Imperialism and "war crimes" (perhaps an overstatement if you are American but not if you were an Indian when we came in and slaughtered them to ...
Roger Waters Live Last Night in Glendale,AZ
While I certainly don’t agree with all of his opinions and sometimes he is just over the top, his interview with Dan Rather on Axs TV ( all excellent interviews with rock and country stars) showed that he is very bright and very articulate. I foun...
Kelcy Mae Wilburn - Ever More Nest - Emerging Artist
Very nice!
Jude-not Julian Lennon
In McCartney's recent 2 volume set called "The Lyrics", he confirms that Hey Jude was inspired by his sympathy for Julian as John was going through a divorce from his mother. Indeed, the song started as "Hey Jules". Heroin is not mentioned in McC...
Washington Post article on MoFi vs. Fremer vs. Esposito
My post from August 6,2022: "I have purchased vinyl that was cut from digital--like Steven Wilson remasters that are excellent. I’m not against such a purchase. But with MoFi, we were lied to--flat out. The One Steps contain an insert that purpor...
Washington Post article on MoFi vs. Fremer vs. Esposito
I have purchased vinyl that was cut from digital--like Steven Wilson remasters that are excellent. I’m not against such a purchase. But with MoFi, we were lied to--flat out. The One Steps contain an insert that purports to provide all of the steps...
Luxman vs Hegal
I stand by my observations above. Hegels are not "clinical". They are very very good amps, in fact, rather excellent. But there is a certain Je ne sais quoi about many Luxman products. Their mid level and reference products simply sound natural an...
Luxman vs Hegal
My impression from attending audio shows over the years: Hegel-strong, powerful, excellent bass,  Luxman- natural, enchanting, sounds like real life. Luxman room at audio shows for me is a must hear. It is a brand I could buy and live with. Cann...
Michael Fremer leaves Analog Planet
Michael is one of the very few reviewers who actually gives true insight into the sound of a product. He is not afraid to point out strengths and weaknesses. With Michael--not every piece of gear is the best ever. I will follow him at Absolute Sou...
McIntosh Group purchased by PE firm
Sure glad ARC spun off a while back and is the hands of an old ARC hand.
Albums you do not get...a plea for help and understanding
Anyone who missed his last two tours have missed him at his best since he toured with Tom Petty in 1986. IMHO. Obviously very different but gripping and with a great band.
Albums you do not get...a plea for help and understanding
Agree on Dave Matthews. Good musicianship but boring and the drummer thinks he is the center of the band and hits the skins way too much.
