GREAT MUSIC - SO POORLY RECORDED... @skipskip Appreciate your post. Very interesting inside info.
Your Top Five Blues LPs, SQ-wise... @slaw thnx for tip on TYA. Unfortunately not their greatest fan. They make a great playlist though. But what is "S/T". See it often in vinyl threads.Isn't Lyle Lovett "Music from the movies" rather blue?
Whats playing on your system today? Taj Mahal - Giant Steps, The real thing etc.
Your Top Five Blues LPs, SQ-wise... Thanks for the rec on early Taj. Great albums. Really fine "true" sound. Also from streaming.

Tidal - why only remastered versions? Some are better and some are worse. Often the remastered version or original cd has been mastered with a compressed sound with lower bass and higher mids and treble. I suppose this is partly done to get a different sound that they can say has impr...
GREAT MUSIC - SO POORLY RECORDED... @ slaw shows how different sounding masterings can be of the same music. My UK version is actually little dark with beautiful vocals (lots of 3D). Reference to me because I can play it at any level without hearing fatigue. The same for a newly acc...
