If John Paul Jones song Bass ’n’ Drums at unhealthy levels are in your taste the speaker for you are the Quested v3110. An active monster for pros. Naturally they play everything you give them with the same self confidence. Yamaha NS 5000 may be a...
Speakers Don’t Matter As Much As We Think They Do?
They do. Different speakers for different listening situations and experiences.

I always come back to -Rickie Lee Jones "S/T" and her other stuff. "Pop" is fine. No speaker or system has still managed the screaming baby perfectly. Listening now to Richard Bona track Djombwe & I Wish & Trains. Very live. Not bad at all...

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Endangered Species - is a terrific acoustic live recording in the studio.

Sonny Rollins - The Bridge is a very fine recording, but while it has the typical jazz setting with one solo instrument 100 percent in the left and another 100 percent in the right channel it doesn’t feel very live to me.Jazz at the Lincoln Center...
