Anyone listen to Zu Audio's Definition Mk3? Phil was right again. I got some new power tubes (Shuguang 211-B very limited edition) for my 211 SET and things are sounding fantastic without any real burn in time on them. These nanotech drivers really leverage the difference between digital an...
Help with a Kora Galaxy tube amp I had a steal lined up on a Galaxy Ref but passed when I read stories of Kora biasing and lack of support. I'd take Steakster's advice and at least consult with Aball.
KR Audio VA340 MKII vs Melody AN 845 I'm an AN211 owner it is a very good amp, which I think can be excellent once I get the stock 211 tubes out. From talking to Hugh, the AN845 is supposed to maintain most of the merits of the AN211 (delicacy, beauty, texture, tonality) but add mons...
Anyone listen to Zu Audio's Definition Mk3? I did not. I already had definition 2 speakers in the first place, and this is the same tweeter/cap the def 3 employs to my understanding.I'm not a hundred percent sold on the driver swap yet to he honest. I hear the technical improvements but I'v...
Anyone listen to Zu Audio's Definition Mk3? What exactly is the purpose of the new Druid V when the Soul Supreme supposedly incorporates the same nanotech drivers along with the Radian super tweeter? What would the difference be? Internal bracing/rigidity and the wiring?
Decware - any substance here? The Torii by itself is not a romantic sounding amp and probably errs a bit towards the analytical. I found to flesh out emotion and involvement an excellent preamplifier was in order. I used an Audion pre when I had my Torii--a nice pairing.Note: ...
Anyone listen to Zu Audio's Definition Mk3? It is the one on the Music Direct link with 3 tracks. I just leave that disc looping whenever possible to help speed up burn in. I don't know if it really works quicker then regular burn in, but its definitely not slower...
Anyone listen to Zu Audio's Definition Mk3? Thanks, Morgan. They were sounding pretty good this morning after another 8 hours of Isotek tones looped overnight as I slept. I think they've improved enough at this point that I can return my old drivers to Zu without worry to retrieve my deposit...
Anyone listen to Zu Audio's Definition Mk3? The installation is pretty simple, but it is real work. You take out the 8 screws, remove the silver trim and carefully pull the driver out. Theres an adhesive tape near the supertweeter so go slow until it gives way. I ripped too hard in one plac...
Anyone listen to Zu Audio's Definition Mk3? Welp... I returned from out of town this evening and my nanotech drivers were waiting for me. Like a good addict, I went to work swapping the original def 2 drivers out with these things and am pleased to report the job was completed with no major...
Anyone listen to Zu Audio's Definition Mk3? I'm excited and optimistic as well. My nanotech drivers are out for delivery now, though I'm out of town and won't be able to install them till Sunday night.
Recommended coax cable for Metrum Octave The Wywires LiteSPD spdif is very good with the octave. It's terminated with RCAs, but they are Xhadows and legitimately 75ohm, so there is no need to modify the unit to take BNC, imo.
Zu Soul Superfly That is interesting, Hugh. The AN211 isn't exactly bass deficient and I'm pleased with its low end driving my Def 2s. The AN845 must be monstrous!
Zu Soul Superfly What is this AN845 you speak of!?!
Zu Soul Superfly Thanks to you too, Hugh.I'll post some more detailed impressions as this baby logs some hours and burns in. I can hear the tremendous promise, but its a little early in the game still.I hate burn in... wish I could fast forward 2 weeks, lol! |
