Has anybody heard the new Audio Aero P5.4 chip?
I think I've read some other posts about that here on Audiogon. You might want to do a search of this forum, because I don't think the P5 software will work in P4 machines from last year.(or call the distributor and ask, then let us know...)
Vote best of these 7 CDP's
Sorry, bub. My intent was to make a joke and have some fun, as indicated by the wink & smile ;-) Get it?! I was having fun with the remark you made about the dealer being 100 miles away, which could indicate thet you didn't want to make the dr...
Redbook Audio Aero Prima vs SACD palyer?
It depends on which SACD player you're talking about. Of course, if you're going to drop a couple of grand on an SACD player, it'll probably be a good one. The Prima has a pretty good reputation around here for redbook performance, but it can't do...

C'mon 1741, there's more to being an audio enthusiast than pecking away at a keyboard! Get off you recently turkey-stuffed butt and drive yourself to the dealer. ;-)100 miles is nuthin! I figure a 90 minute drive would be worth it to go evaluate s...
Does transport matter if using external DAC?
Rock Virgo has explained things well; it ain't just an issue of ones and zeros. Also, if you scroll down just a bit on this Digital Forum, you'll find threads with people asking about which transports are best. There's an obvious inference you can...
Moon Nova or Eclipse?
Okay Sutts. It's nice to know that some are responsive. However, the question you're asking is: (quote)"All I want to know is how good the new Stargate processor is compared to the Attraction I used to own." That is something that a dealer should ...
transport recommendations
Most of the 7 pound dvd players out there are crap and should not be used for quality audio performance. Even some of the $1,000.00+ dvd players can be beaten by a good old CD player with a good Philips transport in it. Plus, the old CD players in...
Can't decide, need your toughts?
Advice? Ya, widen your horizons and try more stuff than the things you mentioned. Then pick what you want, not what somebody tells you is good.Happy Turkey day back at ya'......which reminds me, stay out of Malls while you're looking. Now that Tha...
I have a general question about surround sound.
I love two channel also, but multi-channel can be good if it's done right. A lot of multi-channel mixes are stupid, putting instruments and singers behind you. The good ones put you in the audience, like at a live performance, but that does not me...
Moon Nova or Eclipse?
SuttsSimAudio is the manufacturer, not a dealer. I would guess that their sales Rep. would be busy with business, perhaps travelling and talking to dealers - the person you should be talking to! They can't be expected to be at your beck & call...
Moon Nova or Eclipse?
Sonicbeauty (& Mthieme):I think the degraded sound you were hearing from the I5 is more a result of the preamp section. SimAudio's amps have always been pretty good, but not their preamps. You had an integrated, so you couldn't separate the tw...
Warranties - Best & Worst - New & Used
I'm sorry if you think I'm not "polite", but I wasn't trying to be obnoxious either. I was merely raising what I thought were valid points. You're taking certain points in my posts out of context to challenge and conveniently ignoring other points...

Quote:"11-23-03: UnsoundGolden ears, suffice to say I couldn't disagree with you more." Uh, okay......you can leave it at that, I guess, no harm done to me, that's for sure. But then.... Your argument, if that's what it is, is like your chosen name...
Warranties - Best & Worst - New & Used
Hi Lester ears,Sorry, I'm not trying to take things off-topic. It's just that I have seen this kind of thing happen, where someone bitches publicly about a company because they wouldn't support a Warranty on a product they bought outside the US, o...
Warranties - Best & Worst - New & Used
There are dummies out there who buy stuff from other countries, then whine and cry that the US distributor or retailers won't assist with Warranty claims!! (DUH!! Like, everyone knows this applies to just about ANYTHING you buy across the borders!...
