Dynavector 10 X 5 Or Other MC In Same Price Range?
Walkelin - I've shaken my windows with a Dynavector 10x cartridge. It is not a bass-shy cartridge by any means. It should not be distorting at high volumes. It sounds like you've got a setup issue, or a mismatch.
What is AFAIK?
as far as I'm koncerned
Verity Parsifals
Sorry ManIt is beyond repair. Just grin and bear it until you can get a bigger room. I'm in the same situation with my Dyns. Not enough room to breathe. It sucks, but it's life.
Help re: inner groove sibilance on Nott. Spacedeck
Armstrod -Yes, I'm selling the combo. I was able to get rid of the inner groove sibiliance by removing the arm and cartridge, and re-setting and aligning the cartridge. I also tweaked the pivot screw as mar00 recommended. I'm still not sure what w...
Anyone with a high-end home theater sans sub?
Without a doubt, you can have a high-end home theater without a sub. The point of home theater (for me) is to enjoy the MUSIC in movies. I used to have a pair of bottlehead straight-8s hooked up to 5WPC SETs and watched many movies with friends on...
Help re: inner groove sibilance on Nott. Spacedeck
Armstrod - By mounting do you just mean the screws holding the cartridge in place? Are you simply recommending tightening those screws? Thanks,Todd
Mini Monitors - Dynaudio and JM Labs
Washline - Your run-on sentence there is incoherent. I did take a look at that link, and it seems to coincide with my point. Given that you can hear and differentiate "extension" beyond the 25khz of the esotar tweeter you must have some pretty ama...
Mini Monitors - Dynaudio and JM Labs
Washline - If you like the Be tweeters better than the esotar that's great. Dont be silly though and claim that the esotar lacks "extension" compared to the focal tweeter. It +/- 3db to 25khz. Human hearing caps at 20khz.
Mini Monitors - Dynaudio and JM Labs
"they are from memory, more expensive, so they should be better"Is that a joke?Islandflyfisher - I use a Velodyne DD15 with my Dynaudio standmounts for near reference-quality bass. I high-pass the dyns for a great integration. Regarding tweeters -...
Mini Monitors - Dynaudio and JM Labs
I auditioned many standmounts including Dyn S25, Dyn S1.4, JM Lab Micro Utopia Be, B&W 805 Sig, Sonus faber Cremona auditor, and some more I can't remember. I bought the Dyn S1.4. Dynaudio had the dynamics and the detail that enabled me to get...
Velodyne DD: 10 or 12?
Kck - I am a velodyne DD15 owner. Buy the DD12. It is exactly what you need. The DD15 enabled me to put a band aid over my room's major problems and enabled me to listen to music without being constantly distracted by boomy bass.
Did I make a mistake buying Krell?
Vman - Your results are as I expected. Your really only need a couple watts for those KLF20s. I would encourage looking into <20WPC SET amplifiers. Hooking one up to those very efficient speakers was a "wow" moment for me.
Did I make a mistake buying Krell?
Hook it up, and you tell us if you made a mistake. Audio is a very personal think - 100 people could say they dont like klpipsch + krell but you could disagree. I owned the Klipsch KLF20 and I loved how dynamic they were. Try comparing your Krell ...
Anyone with a high-end home theater sans sub?
If your system main speakers are measurably flat to 20hz, then what is the point of the sub?
Shootout: CJ Sonographe SA250 vs. Classe CA150
I bought the CJ used a couple years ago for around $600 I think. It's very versitile. The plinius amp I have is the SA102
