Bang For Your Buck Best Value CD Transport
Here's one more to think about. I may try one myself down the road. This looks to be a serious transport!CD-Pro2M Complete Kit. It has a similar chassis to the Burmester Reference CD Transport 969.This is also the same chassis used by CEC players....
Bang For Your Buck Best Value CD Transport
I forgot to mention I also had a Sony DVP-S7000 at home. It was said to better it's successor the 7700.Only option the 7700 offered over the 7000 was DTS at the time. I listened to it only through it's audio outputs. Extremely unimpressive in this...
Bang For Your Buck Best Value CD Transport
Yeap the Pioneers are excellent transports. I use the 578A as a transport. Loads faster than any unit I've spent time with that includes the Quad 99 CDp,Arcam DV27,Meridan 500 something? Too many numbers to remember ;-). I would think the 563a sho...
Tyler Acoustic vs. Paradigm
Never heard the Tylers. But think about what your getting with either. The Tyler's are direct from the maker. No dealer/distributor cost figured in. Also look at the parts. Your getting better parts with the Tyler across the board...no doubt about ...
Best DAC under $2K
I look forward to your comparison. It will be fun that's for sure.Just make sure you give the DAC a couple of weeks to burn in. It will sound great after the first couple of hours but won't fully mature for several weeks because of the Black Gate ...
A brutal review of the Wilson Maxx
Yeah it's been quite funny and entertaining. The Agon staff must not be a fan of Wilson either. Normally threads like this don't last long around here.LOLI'm not going to dawg out the Wilson speakers. But I must agree a speaker used as a reference ...
A brutal review of the Wilson Maxx
I can't believe this thread is still going? Normally the powers that be would have pulled it by now. I guess the Wilson company hasn't emailed to complain yet. ;-)
seperates over integrated. Why?
Why haven't you guys asked Stan... if blindfolded can he pick out which is what? SS/tube separates or SS/tube integrated of equal quality(not price) setup on a speaker designed for either? Using the same source of course.I can pretty much guarante...
Best DAC under $2K
Hi Hat,I may consider the 1000/50v mod in the near future myself.I think their $50 a pop if I'm not mistaken. Those V-Caps would be killer but the price is a little steep on those around $500?.. I believe. So I understand you taking one step at a t...
Best DAC under $2K
I second Hatfield's recommendation. Having heard this unit..it is for real. As usual items like this are passed over because the don't carry a high enough price tag. I also have no company funds and such at stake.;-) Just trying to let others know...
Best amplifier for Sonus Faber Concerto Home??
I'm not sure I would mate MF with Sonus Faber. This maybe a little too syrupy LOL. I'm thinking an integrated like the Portal Panache or the Audio Sector could work well.Instead of clinical, I think you mean more transparent without the haze..corr...
Mac gear "Slow" or others "Fast"
The newer Mac gear seems much more refined than it's older brothren. The old Mac did sound slow and fuzzy too me. The new stuff like the 1201, 602, 501 sound pretty darn good.I'm I fevering to own one..not hardly ..as always YMMV.I have yet to hea...
The very best new/used under $3k for classical?
DIY or ready made kits from a manufacture direct are for sure the best bang for the buck. You get more performance for less money. Most are more concerned with resale value and the bling bling factor..which is understood. My thought is...If you fou...
Phase Inverted DAC fix - w/o flipping spkr cables?
If buying from a maker? Just have them to un-invert the phase in the unit itself. I had this done to mine so I wouldn't have to swap speaker cables.
Tyler Accoustics....a true pleasure to deal with..
I agree also that Ty is a terrific fellow. I once had a conversation with him that lasted nearly 2 hours. He's definitely not a salesman. More like a true lover of the hobby. I came within inches of buying a pair of his speakers. But was offered a...
