Speaker recommendations for Mac MA7900 McIntosh and Focal go together amazingly well.
mystery muffled mids What speaker cables are you using?Stop. Just stop.
Switching to battery power I use a Thales turntable and have never been happier.I have never heard ASR but a friend whose opinion I highly respect on these matters says it’s the best sounding integrated out there. (Both Thales and ASR are battery powered)
Looking for a turntable around $1k... Clearaudio Concept or Marantz TT 15-S1 are what I would get.
Which amplifier should i buy If I were in your position I would get the McIntosh MC2301’s and never look back. They are 300 wpc, McIntosh reliability, and last I checked come in right at $20k.The only other high powered tube amps I’d put against the MC2301s are 1.5x - 2.0x th...
Cartridge recommendation around $2k? I believe one of EMT’s cartridges is in that range. As good a build quality as you are going to find. Made very well.
Looking for speaker advice-$10-20k I would take the focal Sopra (2 or 3 based upon room size) over any other speaker up to about $50k. They are magic. I’ve auditioned many many dozens, or more, at this point. Magicos are also very good, but more sterile (some may prefer) than the F...
Looking for my "last" CD transport A Cambridge CXUHD works well for the job in my system. If I could have any CD Transport installed in my system today it would be the AcousticPlan DriveMaster. Looks so cool with the exposed spinning disc.
Are there any speakers for nearfield listening that sound GREAT at low volumes? Trenner & Friedl
ways to store your records I am very happy with my mapleshade storage and would recommend it
I have a serious phobia problem with cleaning records Send your vinyls to perfect vinyl forever and let them handle it. And be done with it. They don’t have to be cleaned again after using their service, if the records are kept in the sleeve they come back in. Aside from maybe an occasional dusting.
Phono Cartridge for $1,000. I had a Holborne cartridge for about $900. I thought it was spectacular. I believe EMT makes a pickup at that price range as well and you cannot go wrong with EMT.
Turntable help, please! Clearaudio Concept is what I’d do at that price. A lot of table technology there. Probably more than you’ll get from any other manufacturer sub $2k. I had the Marantz TT 15-S1 (built by Clearaudio) also in that price range and enjoyed it. Recommend.
Best cost no object tube phono @rauliruegas i agree, the 223 is the one to go for and probably the finest phono stage in the world. I have the 123, and hope to one day have the 223. Unfortunately, it is MIGHTY expensive. And the 123 is entirely satisfying.reading through that d...
Best cost no object tube phono If you are now interested in SS phono cost no object, I cannot recommend FM Acoustics highly enough. If there is one FM piece to have, in my opinion, it is their phono stage. If you are still on tubes, my cost no object in tubes would be Conrad Jo... |
