Hey K.....tt, Do you even have speakers??
this post is so childish. Didn't your mothers teach you all if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing. I don't feel this thread is very suiting for these forms or any for that matter. we are past the time in human development for this sort of t...
Has anyone tried an Audioquest DAC between CD Player & PreAmp?
That really depends on the CD player for sound quality and how old it is and what type of DAC is in it, amongst other things. Little more information would be nice here like what CD player and can your system resolve the differences. does your CD ...
Fixing woofer, should I replicate actions on matching speaker woofer too?
yes have them replace the surrounds and do all the drivers at the same time. its quite common in older drivers so not a big deal. as the material ages it breaks down over time. much less money to have them replace the surrounds then buy new drive...
Trust Schiit Loki
I also have one for my TV - movies and low level evening listening it just gives that little bit of extra bass in the evening. only complaint I have is the excessively bright LED on the front.
Help me upgrade my Mac system?!
I have owned the Sonus Faber Grand Piano Home’s speakers and I feel that is your bottle neck. they are nice speakers but they don’t rock that well IMO. I’ve been trying out some horn loaded speakers from Klipsch’s new heritage line and they give y...
Phono recommendation for around $1000 used
If its just a temporary phono stage I would recommend the iFi Iphono 2 at $500 new its a great phono stage that punches well above its price point and has the flexibility for just about any cart. if you can find a Gold Note PH10 used that is also ...
Has anyone experience with the Cocktail Audio X14?
It does a lot but its not great sounding, mid-fi at best but if that's all you need then the feature set is impressive. I listen to one of the earlier models though so may have improved some since then. Its basically a computer in a box with an in...
300B SET or EL34 SET
I agree with many comments here but I will say after running 300b's for a few years and having to retubing my amp I wish I gone el84 lol.  I have very good transformers in my amp hashimoto's and do not feel I'm missing anything( over other tube ve...
Feastrex Vivace
If that's what your looking at may also want to look as Voxativ out of Germany they make some of the best new production field coil point source drivers around. I'd defiantly want to hear them first field coils need good amount of power for the fi...
JLH 2003 Class A - how good is it?
There are way better class A amps out there, Luxman ,Pass labs, Sungden all make excellent class A amps. this kit is very inexpensive and IMO you pay for what you get specially in class A where heat management is a major issue.  $44. is nothing in...
Preamp with HDMI inputs
Does your TV, projector, apple box have a digital out? or even lightning cable out, you can get a USB from the lightning cable and use that to feed an outboard DAC.   get a decent DAC and skip the HDMI all together. Schiit audio for example has DA...
Has anyone gotten a good discount from dealer on new technics turntables?
I believe there is a 1200g used  on US-Canuck Audio mart for $4k Canadian. Seen it there the other day.
Feastrex Vivace
As a field coil are you prepared to spend the required money on two power supplies for the field coils, my research last year on a field coil driver led me to drop them as a suitable driver starting from scratch. I found you need to spend min $100...
Thinking of a used Hegel H160 integrated – thoughts and/or alternatives?
Just a thought the new Jeff Roland integrated's are Class D and will not be nearly as power hungry as the older class AB models, may want to look into it if you like the Rowland house sound. Also your Accuphase is 150wpc that's good power availabi...
Best home remedy for paper cone woofers cleaning the dust off?
I use a simple soft dust wand to clean my speakers so no damage easy on the surfaces and takes the dust off. just don't press too hard. If you do it regularly there is no need to cleaners or water. The car cleaning industry has many very good dust...
