The Luxman L-595A SE integrated is coming. I had a L560 from the early 80’s and it was Class A 50wpc and did not go into class AB. It was very nice if i do say unfortunate only 100v/220v.from reading on luxman's site this one looks to be 30wpc class A so not sure what the difference is to...
Manger Audio Loudspeakers. Has anyone listened to these? Have a look at LII Audio they are making some very nice full rangers that are proving to be quite good for the money, cheep enough to experiment with. I'm experimenting with the big 18" full ranger but that's just an experiment they have a 15" ful...
Old Amps that can still Kick Butt I've been playing with some vintage Sansui professional series ( BA 2000, CA 2000) pre-power for a year or so as a hobby, and i have to say after a re-cap,etc they are surprisingly nice sounding. Better then the Schiit Aegir in bass, midrange det...

Selling my hubby's estate--B&W 805 D3: Speakers or Loudspeakers?? I'd suggest if you have a good local audio shop call them for advice and potentially buying some of the gear from you.
Which Analog to Digital converter fuzztone1,975 posts04-20-2021 9:40amThe best PCM is the Puffin <$600. LPs rarely have any detectable content above 24-96. Are you mistakenly comparing sample rates to frequency range? Vinyl records have been proven to have information we...
Intimate, warm and holographic alternative If your looking for something intimate and with a huge sound stage i'd suggest looking at some single driver or point source speakers. Voxative comes to mind in the upper end Omega on the lower for single driver speakers. point source your into Ke...
The Absurdity of it All I have to admit we all need to take a look at our selves in the mirror and acknowledge that we are all in deed getting older ( average audiophile age is above 50 now) and we cannot hear all the things we used to regardless of perceived experience....
What do we hear when we change the direction of a wire? Never figured out how you all can hear directionality in a wire for an AC signal. I have done enough testing in various systems over the years and I can not hear a difference in direction other then sometimes with poor wire shielding and grounding...
Is this an right time to buy hifi? I'd say if your buying new go for it, if used wait. Covid has driven the used market prices through the roof. Vintage has gone even further up the silly price range, lots of people are over spending on old equipment that's not worth it. $5k+ for ...
Dream Speakers = landed. Now I need to feed them! Decware, Finale Audio (used most likely), Schiit audio ( Freya + tube preamp possibly) come to mind for low powered tube gear that is good value. there’s a ton more out there. I’d pass on 300Bs though too expensive for tubes IMO specially at your ...
unconventional stand solution for LS50 Wireless II? suggestions? terra-cotta Flue pipes, i.e. chimney liners make excellent speaker stands. just find one that's similar in size you need, slightly shorter to accommodate a wood top plate and bottom plate. the wood blocks/plates on each end with a threaded rod thr...
Crossovers may want to give Danny at GR research an email they do custom crossovers, etc. and could build one for your speakers. mind you you will have to send them a speaker for testing.
A solid tube photo stage around 1500 other then the ones already mentioned the Manley Chinook is another option. also the Audio Note Kit phono stages are quite good for the money. you do not need to build them. |
