Dedicated circuit Ran dedicated lines for system when I initially made the room. As lines were already in upon setting up the system never A/B'ed it with 15A lines.
bookshelf speakers Daber Audio speakers. I have the Monitor 3's they are excellent IMO. Under radar American made brand. Also like PSB speakers pending budget. Happy hunting alot to out there.
Which Integrated amps should I audition? McIntosh, Marantz, Rogers, Rogue. Happy hunting.
Integrated Amp for Silverline Prelude II If the speakers indeed are not fussy, and even if so, the Marantz PM8004. Sounds great with all the speakers I have. Have not used it with your mentioned speakers. The PM8004 is a really sweet amp.
Does it bother you? Spent many years doing audio in television, so much of what you state is right on point. Which is why I myself am very dubious when it comes to tweaks and special items concerning audio.
Emotiva owner announces the end of Sherbourn? Too bad in the sense that the Sherbourn line look was a little more appealing IMO. Price wise the line was a bit more on some items. The Emotiva value is hard too beat. As to the relationship with Carver I yet have to see it to believe it.
How do you organize your LPs? My type of music, I section them. In each section I then have the more favored LP's first. Keeping the same artists together. Not having nearly as many LP's as some this method works well for myself.
Omar Bose... Audio pioneer who brought better sound to many. Innovative products that have been copied my many and a target to slam by some. Many, many years ago the 901's took me to another level and wetted by appetite for different and better for the decades...
McIntosh D100 variable vs fixed outs soundstage Let the 6300 go and hop into a new pre amp. I like Mc stuff myself for the sound and features. I would listen and compare for myself if possible is you chose to go with Mc gear again looking at the preamps with and without the DAC built in.
Zik Headphones The saga of the ugly tie. Wear or hear it in your case or not. Pending the age of your son, would be the deciding factor. You may find even if they sound terrible, that they may be useful when working around the house.
All in one brand, please help Check out Cambridge Soundworks.com They have one in one systems. some with bluetooth as well.
KRELL KCT preamp. FUSE BLOWN Ideally the fuse would protect the unit in certain scenarios. You may wish to check if there are any internal fuses. It is indeed a problem of a sort one could only guess at until properly diagnosed. Be your unit under warranty or not I would cont...
Portal Audio Panache or Marantz PM8004 Cannot speak to the Portal unit as i have not heard it. From what i have read, it would indeed be worth consideration. The Marantz I own, and it is great. I use it in a secondary system. It is not quite my primary system McIntosh MA6600, but darn ...
Anyone heard the MXA60?? Heard one a few years ago when it first came out. It sounded very good, however it was connected to B&W bookshelf speakers at the time. Don't know why that was. If space is a concern and your wallet can bare the it, worth consideration for the...
Audio Research DSI 200 integrated amp I think AR makes some great gear. For the price of $6000.00 plus I would suggest you look at the McIntosh MA6600. More inputs, headphone and phono stage and more. The new McIntosh MA6700 even has a built in DAC.I have the MA6600 and I find it to b... |
