Synergistic Research Purple UEF Duplex - receptacle
I've been waiting for this Purple duplex to be available for sale for months and now I have one.  First impressions are certainly positive. I went directly from a cheap generic receptacle, probably less than $1, to this product. My system's music ...
Pass XP12. Tame, Anemic?
@caglioti  How did your XP12 end up for you?  I know, very old discussion.  I'm curious though.  Someone mentioned that it could be the Blue Jeans cables, and although I never used Blue Jeans ICs, the Blue Jeans speaker cables I still have in sto...
Power Cables on Subwoofers do Matter
To the dedicated skeptics and the sincerely questioning, the audible difference is as clear, obvious, and irrefutable as the contrast in pitch between two different keys played on a keyboard. I tried to convey this point previously in this discuss...
Suggestions for sturdy sub $2,000 audio rack
Depending on what you choose, and if you go standard or custom, Timber Nation might be able to get you a nice one for sub $2k.
Quiz about adding dense mass to a vibration isolation application!
Awesome.  I wanted to ask for some advice on cheap cable risers but I just hadn't gotten around to it yet.  Thanks guys.  I've got some work to do...
Quiz about adding dense mass to a vibration isolation application!
The result of being profoundly enamored with one's own thoughts and allegiant to a familiar paradigm is that the underlying pridefulness blocks one from seeing the obvious.
Power Cables on Subwoofers do Matter
As a side note to the discussion for anyone doing their own subwoofer cable swapping, I've found the synthesized bass line in the song "In Too Deep" by Jacob Collier to be particularly useful in evaluating sub-bass qualities.

Interesting stuff guys.  @tonywinga : What method are you using to measure the resonance in Hz on your components?
Quiz about adding dense mass to a vibration isolation application!
@dadork  Yeah, I'm experimenting with the Nobsound spring devices too, and I agree they should include springs which are a little less stiff.  So far my results have been that they are pretty effective with four of them placed under my two heavie...
Power Cables on Subwoofers do Matter
Yo!  Let the testimonials flow!  Who cares what a REL rep tells you.  Your own subjective aural experience is all that matters. And to be really real, pure subjectivity itself is the primordial, underlying and requisite reality of all ostensibly ...
Power Cables on Subwoofers do Matter
@beatlebum That's awesome to hear that you benefited from my posts here!  I tested cables from Audio Art, Synergistic Research, Audio Envy, Furutech, Acoustic Zen, and a few cheapo cables with different gauges, and none of them gave me the speed, ...
Acoustic Zen Matrix Reference II vs. Absolute Copper IC's
I combined the Absolute Copper XLR with the Fusion XLR from Zavfino and for my system and tastes it's an awesome pairing.
What are you streaming tonight?
Tony Anderson's 2021 album "Nuit".  On the third listen, gets better every time.
Power Cables on Subwoofers do Matter
@steakster Totally agree that precise phase adjustment is crucial to integration, along with crossover and volume.  I think it's a baseline thing for the total system's sound.  If it's not properly integrated, especially with phase (in my experien...
Power Cables on Subwoofers do Matter
Yes, I agree @lak that mileage WILL vary based on multiple conditions, one of which being the exact power cable used. I can only provide testimony about my sealed, 500w rms, class D powered sub which is plugged into a power conditioner outlet that...
