Thanks for all the replies.  It's been enjoyable reading all of them.

Best embrace your inner Newtonian self. Far easier to live with and keep ahold of sanity. @david_ten Interesting response. Where is this Newtonian self? The Newtonian paradigm is a system of thought which is within yourself, which is subjectivi...

A thing’s reality is not the same as its description. Is that fundamental truth something you came up with subjectively? If not, then how can you check that it’s true -- with a non-subjective source? Hi @hilde45 , It’s an observation which ...

Another suggestion:  read the entire Stereophile glossary, so you have a foundation from which to discuss and comprehend audiophile language.   https://www.stereophile.com/content/sounds-audio-glossary-glossary

Your step of asking specific questions here of experienced audiophiles is a good one.  My suggestion is 1) don't rush your research, 2) research thoroughly, learning what to ask and how to respond to requests for more info, as there are many aspec...
musician aquarius r2r dac any good?
@viethluu I totally understand what you are saying. I want vertical movements must as much as you. I think I need to be really clear about my point. I haven’t heard the Denafrips Venus II, but from my internet research and my resulting suppositi...
Tube Rolling Advice for the Backert Labs Rhumba Extreme?
I was talking to a long-time audiophile on the phone a couple days ago and he said that tubes don't make that much of a difference in sound compared to fuses.  This is just two 12AU7 tubes on a linestage, and the difference is very profound.  I'm ...
Tube Rolling Advice for the Backert Labs Rhumba Extreme?
@milpai I’ve just started my tube rolling journey with my Rhumba Extreme 1.3, and my first change was to the Psvane Art Series. Holy mother of tubes! After only 9 hours on them, they are already a giant leap ahead of the stock Mullard tubes. Thank...

Pontus II + Hermes DDC with OCXO clock is in your price range. I’ve shared my thoughts in another recent thread, so I won’t go off about it here, but the combination, in my system, is far greater than the Pontus II alone and the price is still not...
What are you streaming tonight?
Nils Frahm's "Human Range" song is a marvel of immersive music.  96/24 on Qobuz
Denafrips Pontus II vs Venus II
@ozzy62 I described my setup in detail in this discussion already, so you can check that out if you want. The gist is that I’m using a dedicated network endpoint to stream via UPnP from a smartphone as a dedicated device for my streaming app(s). S...

@muskyman1 Any updates for us on this comparison?  🙏
The greatest tweak ever?
I can't tell who is in on it and who isn't!?!?  Hahahaha
Looking for a preamp with XLR connections
This does have tubes, but it's very nimble, detailed, dynamic, and extended, and with balanced XLR inputs and outputs https://parttimeaudiophile.com/2022/07/29/backert-labs-rhumba-extreme-1-3-preamplifier-review/
