Advice from Wadia owners
Balanced lines are intended for longer runs - 2 meters is a trivial distance. Though it's best to keep interconnects as short as possible, I think you could go any reasonable distance without a problem. In commercial sound applications balanced li...
using different amps for Bi-amping ,any good ?? l
Make sure you have the ability to adjust the gain of each power amp independently of the other.
Any heard/heard of Whest DAP.10 R processor?
What kind of inputs/outputs does this thing have? Is it unbalanced only or does it also support balanced connections?
upsampling HDCD?
The upsampler treats the HDCD as just another CD and doesn't do HDCD decoding. The HDCD process starts with 88.2 khz sampling of the original signal at 20 bits (if I remember correctly...) followed by a kind of "perceptual encoding" process that d...
How to burn CD with CD text?
My HP computer came with a program called "RecordNow" for burning CDs, music and otherwise. When pulling tracks from CDs to make a composite disk, it attempts to look up titles on the web. It then creates the new CD with CD Text.I;m sure other cop...
Any heard/heard of Whest DAP.10 R processor?
The new Audio Advisor catalog has it listed for $1749. No info on connection types, and a vague description of its operating principles.
SCAM ALERT -- AUDIOGONERS TARGETED
Too bad they didn't spell "Phone" correctly - spoiled a perfectly good scam email!
Need Help with Strange Buzzing
It sounds like you're getting induced noise through the power line - perhaps from a flourescent light or electric motor. Your Panamax 6 doesn't seem to provide any power line noise supression. Try one and see if it helps.

Differences between Aragon Palladium Models
Thanks for the tip - according to the forum, the original Palladium is based on the 4004, and the Palladium II is based on the 8008 (as Ender mentioned). The original came only in a balanced input configuration. The II came in single ended and bala...
Am I damaging my Preamp?
I can't imagine how you'd damage a line level input by feeding it a line level signal, even though it might be relatively high level. The worst that could happen is you'd overload the input, resulting in obvious distortion but no damage. Since you...
Maggie's and cats
I had a similar problem with my two cats when I bought a new rear projection TV in January. I didn't want them to claw the speaker grills (my hi fi gear lives in a seperate room not accessible to the cats). I found a nifty solution. A company call...
Impedance issues???
To second KR4: The impedance matching of your digital cable is entirely separate from the impedance matching of your audio interconnects.
75 ohm digital cable
It is a 75 ohm IMPEDANCE, not resistance. Impedance has both a resistive and a reactive part, and is properly represented as a complex number of the form r+iw, where i is the square root of -1 (an imaginary number). The "r" part is pure resistance...
