Whats playing on your system today? @slaw Glad you liked it but, honestly, Nutty deserves credit for that. He’s the one that got me listening to Satriani (finally) and that release in particular. A good one! (I musta been living under a rock, I guess).
Rare Willie Nelson album - trying to identify it maudie - A suggestion: Consider setting up a "virtual system" entry (can be done from your Profile page, as I recall) and use it to post a picture(s) of the album. "Worth a thousand words", as the saying goes.

Whats playing on your system today? @uberwaltz@reubentI suspect you know Karl Wallinger and Mike Scott were bandmates in the early days of The Waterboys but the old creative differences bugaboo ensued leading to KW forming his own band: World Party. As far as that WB track being ins...

is there a matching problem ? Happy to read you got it sorted out, Claero. If the Sim W5 is brand new, it might mellow out and lose some of the high frequency emphasis over time.
What's in your CDP tonight? the minority report nutty - going by memory (increasingly risky) of impressions from a couple days ago...I think that S/T release had a more "open" sound...breathed a little more. Also, I think there was more variety in the sound track to track. I don’t mean variable...
Which Budget Speakers, Tekton or Omega? If you are open to brands other than Tekton and Omega, Silverline Prelude Plus speakers meet many of your criteria: Silk dome tweeter: 92 db sensitivity (I'm driving a pair very satisfactorily with a 20 wpc First Watt amp); 40" height (40"x5:x8"...
Be Careful! Definitely worth noting. Static can kill gear. I ran a length of lamp cord to the ground connection on a power regulator. I try to remember to touch the end of it before touching any equipment. The spark only hurts a little.
is there a matching problem ? I’m missing some points but the main questions claero asks are about a possible mismatch between his new Simaudio power amp and Linn Kisto preamp; secondarily he’s asking whether the gain of the Sim might be excessive. He asks due to deterioration...
Whats on your turntable tonight? @reubent Since you like Brian Auger (and assuming you aren't already aware of the series) check out CAB2 by Tony MacAlpine, Bunny Brunel and Dennis Chambers + Brian Auger. You might enjoy it.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAB_2
Standout track on an album bdp - It's interesting to read how we prioritize music purchases. If you can find West for audition at B&N - great. If not, I do think it's worth that $10 gamble.
Anyone have experience buying from Redd's Market? Folks - I enjoy window shopping but when I logged onto the Redd's Market site, couldn't see where their inventory was listed. What am I missing? (Thanks) |
